Trouble importing from OOTP 6.5 --> 8

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section...

I recently got OOTP 8. I'm trying to import an online league file from OOTP 6.5. Everytime I try it it tells me the file needs to load on opening day, but beyond that it says if it's an online league to clear the pass through OOTP 6. How do I get around this issue, seeing as I don't have OOTP 6 to clear the password through (altho I know the password, so if it asked me it I could answer it properly...).

Am I missing something, or do I just need the league file to start on April 2nd? Sorry if this sounds stupid

Try going to the following page and downloading the ootp6demosetup.exe file:

Index of /ootp

Using the demo, you may be able to remove the commissioner password.

Thanks, but unfortunately that doesn't work. I tried that, but apparently I already burned my demo time when I used the OOTP 8 demo, and it won't let me use OOTP 6 without buying it.

Do any of the other prospective GMs in your league have OOTP 6 or 6.5 installed? Maybe they could help you.

They're the ones who sent me the file

(the one's with 6.5). They don't know what the problem is, which is why I came here.

I am having the same issue as ThePretender.

I downloaded my league's file and also OOTP 8.0 demo.

When I tried to import the league, I got the message saying I need to remove the password (I do know what the password is, I just dont know to actually remove the password).

Also, it gives me some message about it having to be on Opening Day (we're currently in August of 2010).

I can send the file to somebody if they want to help out.

As I suggested to ThePretender in the second post of this thread, did you attempt to download the demo to delete the password?
