I take it you made these decisions sometime before Opening Day, because:
  • Kline's been designated for assignment.
  • Chulk and Lowry are on the DL.
  • Merkin Valdez, Erick Threets, and Keiichi Yabu made the club.
  • Frandsen's out for the year; Brian Bocock made the club.
  • Alfonzo was sent down; Steve Holm made the club.
  • Burriss and Schierholtz didn't make the club.
Plus, I'm guessing that in OOTP, you may have to run thousands and thousands of simulations, but the 2008 Giants will almost certainly win at least one game. In real life, I'm way less certain....

I would, however, be very interested to see how the players are rated.

As someone who's running a 2003 Detroit Tigers "dynasty" myself (dynasty feels like the wrong word with a team that lost 119 games), I'm always interested to see how other players manage the struggles of a sub-.500 squad. I'll definitely be following your season.

(Plus, Barry Zito can't be as disappointing electronically as he is in real life...right?)

I managed the Giants in an online league using CubbyFans 2008 rosters. I demoted Zito to AAA in mid-may and left him 4-7 record and 5.07 ERA there. So yes, he can be that bad even electronically.

Turns out they were both nonroster invitees. Holm, apparently, was brought in solely as a bullpen catcher, but they liked what they saw....

What you have is probably better than what the Giants have....

Although, hey, the worst we can do this year is 1-161.
