Donald "Doomsday" Winslow, USA, 7-1-0 (7) vs Frank Cawley, USA, 7-1-0 (7)
The chiseled Winslow pounds away at Cawley early, as Cawley has developed a huge mouse around his left eye, 16-7, Winslow in the 1st. The 2nd and 3rd rounds are too close to call. Winslow eats a left cross and is stunned to open the 4th. Cawley lands a wicked uppercut and Winslow is down at the end of the 4th. Winslow looks to have recovered, 15-9, in the 5th. Both fighters enter this fight with the same, identical records and we have a good fight. The knockdown seemed to wake-up Doomsday, as he has gained some steam in the 5th and 6th rounds. Winslow comes out quick and cuts the angle from Cawley. Cawley catches Winslow on the ropes and hammers home some body punches. Winslow escapes and reverses positions as Cawley is taking one, two, three punches in a row while getting caught in his corner. Cawley's left eye is closing pretty fast. Cawley is slumped against the post and Winslow has landed several blows with brute force behind them. Cawley doesnt respond to the ref's warnings and the fight has been stopped at the end of the 6th round. Winner: Winslow Result: (TKO6) Cards: 48-46 Winslow, 48-46 Winslow, 48-46 Cawley Punch stats: 150-324, 46.3% Cawley - 196-336, 58.3% Winslow |

New Promotional Team enters boxing ring...
Approximately one week after Muckboys Promotions and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson sever ties, another promotional company steps into the ring and tries their hand in the boxing world by signing the Youtube sensation, street-fighting legend and newly crowned, MMA hot property, Kimbo Slice. Punch-Drunk Promotions has signed Kimbo Slice to a boxing contract and will be managing his career in the professional boxing circuit. Kimbo was set to take on the world of MMA but there just doesnt seem to be any quality competitors willing to step into the octagon to meet him face to face. Kimbo believes that boxing will provide him more of an opportunity because his game is primarily of the stand-up variety anyways.

BGP adds Hatton to mix...
Billy Goat Promotions signs young prospect, Ricky Hatton, England, 2-0-0 (2), to add to their stable. BGP's three fighters are doing very well but they wanted to continue to develop young fighters and Hatton is looking like a world-class prospect after his first two professional fights. BGP's George Stankovich has been a pleasant surprise and is currently working his way towards a NZPBF titles shot, while Italy's, Ray Mancini, is doing the same in his home country.

A shake-up in the U.K.
Several fighters have broken free from their contracts due to two prominent Promotional/Management Teams shutting their doors. The most significant fighters of interest call the United Kingdom their home. Calzaghe, Honeyghan and Fitzsimmons are the ranked fighters that come to mind while the others are young prospects, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and American, Floyd Mayweather Jr., that have had great amateur careers and are looking for the same success in the professional ranks.

Northern Lights Promotions and Calzaghe agree to terms...
In the wake of a shake-up in the boxing industry, Northern Lights Promotions quickly steps up and offers Calzaghe a signing bonus to join their team. Calzaghe decides it is a good fit because NLP concentrates on promoting the careers of a few, selective fighters that they can closely monitor and work with and maintains a quality stable of only championship quality type boxers. Calzaghe will bring his CBC and EBU title belts with him and looks forward to campaigning with Northern Lights Promotions as soon as possible.

Punch-Drunk offers promo services to Eubank or Benn (or both), if there are no objections from other promoters.

First come, first serve. Of course, there might be objections from promoters, but you chose to offer your services first and put the pen to paper. |

PDP quickly signs two more to add to stable of fighters...
Punch-Drunk Promotions enters the fray in the European fight scene by quickly signing two prominent and highly regarded amateur fighters out of England. PDP is glad to add Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank to its stable and looks to get both of their careers started as soon as possible.

Will try to get back to the schedule and finish this month today. Have a meeting a 7:00 a.m. pacific time, and will start when I get back. Will also try to start posting opponents lists for next month.
For the newer promotional teams - the opponents list will usually consist of about 12 fighters to pick from for your boxers next fight. You can also ask for a specific fighter to fight against if you have seen his name in previous posts and are interested in matching him up with your boxer. To schedule a fight with another teams promotional fighter, you have to negotiate with that promoter about taking a fight. And remember that fighters are non-fictional unless there is an * which means RFG fighter, Rocky characters, and my fictional created fighters that will always be posted with a nickname. Just FYI.

Kano, Nigeria
Dick Tiger, Nigeria, 7-0-0 (6) vs Joshua Clottey, Ghana, 2-0-0
Tiger steps into the ring against a tough, good looking heavyweight in Joshua Clottey. Clottey has good punching power in both hands and is an excellent boxer/puncher. Injuries to his hands have plagued him in the past. Tiger shoots a jab that misses and Clottey lands a counter hook that puts Tiger down in a stunning 1st round. Looks like a flash knockdown, as Tiger recovers quickly and wins the 2nd and 3rd rounds, 8-2, 19-8. A close 4th round in favor of Tiger, 13-10. Clottey comes back with a feverish 5th round, 18-4. Tiger traps Clottey in the corner and goes to work, 13-5. The 7th is an even round, 8-8. Clottey cuts off the ring and does a good job in the 9th, 12-8, even though the swelling to his left eye worsens. Clottey, 10-1 in the 10th. Tiger dominates the 11th and 12th, as Clottey sustains a cut over the left eye in the 11th. Clottey appears to be fading as Tiger has done more in the last few rounds. Winner: Tiger Result: (TKO15)(Cuts) Cards: 135-130, 135-131, 135-130, all three cards in favor of Tiger Punch stats: 204-833, 24.5% Clottey - 479-945, 50.7% Tiger |

Nakornrajaseema, Thailand
Khaosai Galaxy, Thailand, 9-0-0 (9) vs Mani Vaka, Tonga, 12-2-0 (9)
Mani Vaka comes to Thailand and brings the hurt with him as he lets his hands fly and opens a cut over the right eye of Galaxy in the 1st round, 14-3. An uppercut followed by a hook almost ends the fight in the 2nd, 27-3, Galaxy. The 4th is another huge round for Galaxy, 28-4. Vaka has survived two round that most fighters would not have. Vaka is down twice in the 5th round as Galaxy has found the cure since the 1st round. A right hook puts Vaka down again in the 7th and a combo sends him down at the end of the round. Vaka's only chance is to go to work on the cut over the right eye of Galaxy. And just as we say that he opens the cut up with a straight jab. The doctor comes up but allows the fight to continue. 17-11, Galaxy in the 9th. Vaka walks into a straight right and goes down for the 5th time in this fight. Vaka is able to get up but the severe swelling around his right eye has forced the fight to be stopped. Winner: Galaxy Result: (TKO12) Cards: 109-96, 110-95, 108-97, all three cards in favor of Galaxy Punch stats: 157-505, 31.1% Vaka - 345-609, 56.7% Galaxy |

El Alebrije Discoteque, Mexico
Jose Becerra, Mexico, Pro Debut vs Fabian Meza, Mexico, Pro Debut
Becerra controls the first round of his professional debut, 8-4, against Meza. A brutal combination to the head and body drops Meza at the beginning of the 2nd round. Meza is able to get up but continues to take a great deal of punishment until the referee steps in and puts a halt to the fight at the 2:28 mark of the 2nd round. Winner: Becerra Result: (TKO2) Cards: 10-9, on all three cards in favor of Becerra Punch stats: 14-74, 18.9% Meza - 60-120, 50% Becerra |

Leisure Centre, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England
Jock McAvoy, England, Pro Debut vs Isaac Perrins, England, Pro Debut
McAvoy and Perrins are just two of a number of heralded young English fighters making their professional debuts in recent months. We have seen the likes of Khan, Hatton, Hamed, Jackson, Johnson, Benn, Eubank, Mendoza, and Hope all take or prepare to take their shot at glory. McAvoy comes out in an aggressive fashion and uses his jab to establish himself in the first two rounds. A combination puts the big man, Perrins, down in the 3rd round. McAvoy misses with a punch and eats a counter right that puts him down at the end of the 4th round. McAvoy makes it up at the count of nine. Perrins, another fine fighter from the REC, wins the 6th, 11-5. McAvoy has a big 7th, 18-0. McAvoy is doing a good job of using angles and staying away from Perrins power as he wins back to back rounds in the 8th and 9th, 14-0, 14-2. A short, clean left cross puts Perrins down for the second time in the fight. Perrins is able to get to his feet but is unable to defend a beautiful combination that ends the fight here in the 10th round. Winner: McAvoy Result: (KO10) Cards: 87-81, 87-81, 87-83, all three cards in favor of McAvoy Punch stats: 103-499, 20.6% Perrins - 337-573, 58.8% McAvoy |
