Exclamation Stop Calling Me!

Is there anyway to rollback my ITP to version 1.02? I downloaded the 1.03 patch the other day and the phone never stops ringing (you've been promoted to AAA, you've been demoted to AA, You're a starter, you're a closer, etc...) These calls occur many times each and every day for months on in... it has made the game unplayable in pitcher mode. Since I've never had this happen before, I am assuming it is a 1.03 issue. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, this has happened several times, it was not just an isolated incident.

I just bought this game last week. Yeah, I know, late in the game.

I'm having the same problem, but I've never played any other patch version. It's ridiculous. Is there a way to fix this? What the previous poster said is dead on accurate. The pitching mode is almost unplayable like this. I get sent up and down sometimes 3 times in one day. It happened for an entire seasons at one point. Going down a level kills all mood for the pitcher too. I just gave up.

Please help.

Good luck with that.

Unhappy

Well, I've emailed someone in charge around here and posted to this forum. It is pretty obvious that they've given up on this game and we are stuck with the new, updated, more unplayable than ever!, version. Customer support is not this company's strong point, but then again, product support obviously isn't a priority either.

This company is pretty good for the most part with customer support. The problem is that ITP is the red-headed stepchild of OOTP, which is the main bread winner in the family. With Markus spending all of his work time trying to get OOTP 7 done, ITP gets thrown to the back burner. Kind of sad, really, but I haven't played the game in many months. Even if there was a patch to fix the problems discussed in this thread, the game would still not be able to hold anywhere near the replay value that OOTP does.... in it's current state, that is. I do hope that later on down the road Markus will work on a sequel, because it does have some potential.

Thumbs down

I understand that Bob, but I paid for both games (and other versions of OOTP in the past) and I expect the game to be playable. I am not asking for a feature or for them to add something new or different to the game, I am asking that the game simply be made playable. The people at this company are obviously aware of the problem and have chosen not to spend a minimal amount of time to make sure that a game is functional. I am obviously not someone with a messed up machine or a corrupt copy of the program, as this seems to be happening a lot. You know, I didn't even ask for them to change anything, just give me my old version back, the one that worked before it got "patched." It simply can not be that hard to rememdy this problem and they choose to ignore it. That is just beyond me! The people on these boards have been buying these games for years and that help put this company where it is. I don't like paying for a game when I am paying for some guys side-project that won't be supported. Why did it not say that the game didn't work and wouldn't be supported further if that's what it meant? BTW, you can still buy the game (at approximately the same price as OOTP6), and it is still broke. Basic quality control says you pull a broken product and fix it, but I don't see either of those happening around here. I thought I had been pretty patient. I left the post on the board here for quite a while before trying to contact someone directly, and still have no response either way. Their silence tells me about all I need to know, I just wish they could've saved me some time and money and found a way to put it into words and post it!

You're preaching to the choir, I feel your pain. I feel that they should address these concerns, too. Just saying that it probably won't happen for the reasons I stated above. I didn't say you didn't have a quarrel here.

Well, today the OOTP people felt the need to send out an email, which probably took longer to compose than to fix this problem, to buy a patch for OOTP6. A PATCH!!! WEAK!!! Why can't we just buy a full-featured, functional. product these days? Why buy this patch when OOTP 7 is probably coming after that? Not to worry, if it doesn't work, they will charge you for the next one, if there is a next one... maybe they will just put it on the back burner, keep the money they collected, and then keep selling patches! As long as they keep charging for (and not supporting!!!) their developers pet-projects, which turn out to simply be old and broken software (which is still for sale!!!), how can we be sure what works around here and what doesn't? This company has gone from trying to make good products to trying to make the most money they can for the least amount of work, sofware improvement, and customer service, they can get away with.

Just out of curiosity, what version of OOTP was your first? Or was ITP your first venture here?

I can understand not improving the product but to sell people something that doesn't work properly is unethical. I don't care if it's a side project or not. They took my money. All I'm asking for is to have the game work as advertised. Simple as that.

I started with OOTP4 and have bought just about every product they have put out. That's not going to continue.

No response?

I fear that your warning may have come too late.

heh... I bought this game too, and I was just taking a look to see if it was upgraded/fixed - as it's been around since, what, 2005?

ITP is where OOTP developments jumped the shark. The OOTP releases before this point were brilliant, but the releases I've played after it seem a lot more rushed, without any corresponding improvement in customer service/tech support to make up for it.
