Yes, it was. But it seems as though Calzaghe will be stripped unless he responds to a rematch ordered by the CBC. The UKBG looks to be folding up operations and Calzaghe may be looking for new management. It always seems as though a fighter loses when he is unable to finish the fight after a really big round. Jackson had Calzaghe on the ropes for two straight rounds but didnt end the fight and suffered the consequences. |

Bear's Unstable signs two, in negotiations with several other high profile fighters...
The pugilistic community welcomes another management/promotional team to the fold in Bear's Unstable, from the Windy City of Illinois, USA. Bear's Unstable has entered the fray by quickly signing two fighters, Jose Becerra from Mexico and Jock McAvoy out of England. The BU is currently in negotiations with two prominent fighters but the details havent been worked out yet. Becerra will be looking to make his impact in the CABO region with his upcoming professional debut and McAvoy will try to make himself known in the EBU region with his first pro fight.

Becerra's first opponent...
May/June fight?
All Mexican fighters: Jesus Valadez, pro debut Fabian Meza, pro debut Felix Mendoza, pro debut Eliseo Lopez, pro debut Rodolfo Cruz, pro debut Rafael Fimbres, pro debut Jorge Arellano, pro debut Arturo Cabrera*, pro debut Jose Velasco*, 0-1-0 Valente Ochoa*, 0-1-0 Pepe Del Rio, 0-1-0 Cesar Armijo, 0-1-0 Tomas Navarro*, 0-3-0 Juan Meza, 1-3-0 Guillermo Vargas, 0-5-0 Ramon Castillas*, 1-0-0 (1) Armando Salgado, 1-1-0 Mario Maciel Garcia, 2-3-0 (2) Gustavo Enriquez, 3-2-0 (1) Note: Some helpful info since this is debut for fighter and managerial/promotional team. All fighters are non-fictional fighters unless noted so you can go into boxrec to scout opponents if not already in database. A fighter with a * after name is a RFG fighter. Most RFG fighters will be in the 0-2 range. The only thing about choosing one of the RFG fighters is that it is purely a guess as to how they will perform since you will have no info to go on. My fictional created fighters will all possess a nickname that will be posted with the fighters first and last name on any list or fight cards and range from middle to highly rated. Lastly, there are fictional fighters from the Rocky movies. Good luck and happy slugging!

I was definitely worried about a repeat when the fight was in the early stages. Now all you have to do is worry about Ruiz showing up. I hear he has a strained heart muscle! |

Rodrigo Valdez, Colombia, 7-0-0 (6) vs Marco Antonio Barrera, Mexico, 6-0-0 (5)
Mexico's Barrera leads with effective punching and counters Valdez well in the 1st, 13-5. Valdez comes back in the 2nd in a close round but it looks as though Barrera wins the third. The 4th round is dead even, 14-14. A body shot to the liver puts Valdez down in the 5th. Valdez is hurt again in the 6th, 19-4. Valdez responds with a 14-10, 7th round. Barrera develops some bad swelling around his right eye. Both fighters mix it up in a classic 9th, 18-16, Valdez. Barrera, 11-5, in the 10th. Barrera's right eye is swelling shut as we enter the 12th. 17-11, Valdez in the 13th. Neither fighter will give an inch as Valdez has a strong 14th. Barrera finishes the fight with a strong last round, 10-2. What a great fight we had here in Brazil. Winner: Valdez Result: (SD15) Cards: 145-139 Barrera, 143-141 Valdez, 142-141 Valdez Punch stats: 339-627, 54.1% Barrera - 320-777, 41.2% Valdez Luzimar Gonzaga, Brazil, pro debut (KO3) Liberaratore Porfirio*, Brazil, pro debut Eder Jofre, Brazil, pro debut (KO1) Ignacio Veloso, Chile, 0-1-0 Joel Julio, Colombia, 2-0-0 (2) (TKO2) Limber Mua Ivernegaray, Bolivia, pro debut Carl Davis Drumond, Costa Rica, pro debut (KO1) Domingo Silveira, Uruguay, 0-1-0 Andre Berto, Haiti, pro debut (KO9) Renato Perada*, Brazil, pro debut Roberto Duran, Panama, 5-0-0 (5) (TKO3) Felipe Nino Molinar, Panama, pro debut James "Thump" Mercedez, Brazil, 1-0-0 (1) (TKO5) Justo Bahamonde*, Brazil, 0-2-0 Louis Azille, Dominica, 10-4-0 (7) (TKO5) Jose Felipe Colon, Puerto Rico, 1-5-0 (1) Julian Jackson, US Virgin Islands, pro debut (KO1) Billy Grant, Bahamas, pro debut James "Last Rites" Snipes, Barbados, pro debut (TKO4) Connor Slader, Jamaica, 0-1-0

Man, I can't begin to say how disappointed I've been with Rampage. Of the 7 losses that Muckboy Promotions fighters have 4 are by Rampage. I think it might be time for us to end our relationship with him. I'm going to have to start searching for a replacement fighter.

Three more signings...
Bear's Unstable is looking to be a serious player in the boxing world as they announce three more signings of high profile fighters. The first signing, Stanley Ketchel, USA, 10-0-0 (10), #37 in world rankings, is a fighter that was released from his previous contract with another company because they stopped their business operations. The second fighter signed this evening is Sonny "The Bear" Liston, USA, 21-3-0 (21), #71 in world rankings, which is somebody that can provide some good commercial exposure as well as good boxing. The last signee is a young fighter out of Cuba, Kid Chocolate, who just started his professional career, but had a tremendous amateur run, and looks to be a promising prospect on the rise in the tough CABO region.

Muckboys takes the tough road again. I wish you were a real-life promoter, then we would get all the unification bouts that we really want to see! Hope this one goes better for you than the Wilde debut. |

With the entire month to go before the June rankings, Napoles is World#32, CABO#1, CABOFE#1, LABA#1. He is next in line for whoever wants to give him a shot in the CABO, CABOFE, LABA, or even CNBF even though I know that you arent interested in that one. The only obstacle right now is that all those title holders had recent title defenses. Diego Corrales is talking to his management and is probably willing to give Muckboys and Napoles a title shot opportunity because he feels it will be an easy way to make a mandatory defense of his title, make a little cash and move up the world rankings. A win-win situation with not much downside is what Diego mentioned.
