Can't reimport names database?
I posted this at on the General Forum, but it seems to be a significant issue worthy of Tech Support. Hopefully someone directly associated with the development of OOTP can help. Much appreciated.
Thanks. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar....php?p=2387091 |

I think this is something that Markus would have to give his answer to.
I haven't done a name import but the way I would see that it should work is 1) Create a list of all existing names that are in use and set their frequency to 0 2) Load the name text files and if the name is already there set its frequency to the correct value, otherwise add it to the name collection 3) Save the name collection to names.dat The issues I see are with a frequency of 0 meaning that - I presume it does, and the fact that the names.dat file is not keyed on name id, so altering the order of the file will mess up any id's that are already stored against players, coaches and human managers.

Do you have any more questions here? Is there something that we need to log?
