Thanks Cubby, the only other question I have is which league to start from? When I'm beginning a new season w/ your roster set should I start a fictional league or start a real MLB league (I have version ootp 8)
Thanks for all your hard work though despite my own personal computer illiteracy problems!! |

Minors
Forgive me if I am asking a question on a previous covered topic but this may be faster than reading the entire link. Just curious---how deep is the minors with real players?

You don't start a new league. The file is a saved game, maening all you do is go under saved games and load it. The league is already created and in place.

OK I figured it out guys, thanks. I downloaded Cubby's latest roster update, then extracted all the files into my saved game file by using the unrar program.
Thanks again for all the hard work of updating rosters. |

Unpacking the files
What's the procedure for downloading? I've saved it into my OOTP 08 folder, but even when I look at it using WinRAR it only shows two folders, "Data" and "Uninstall". It won't show the downloaded file(s).
If I use WinRAR to open the file, instead of save, during the download it automatically places it in a temp folder. When I've tried to move that into OOTP 08 I still don't see any of the Cubbyfan files. I get a default game, but when I try and open it I get a message saying its corrupted. Anyone able to help with what I'm screwing up? |

The folder is in My Documents, saved_games. That is where you need to place the .lg file in order to make it work. Enjoy!

Quesiton on start rating
I downlaoded the most recent version of Cubby's set last night (been using his sets for a while, they are great!).
I noticed that each team has a few players with 2 - 5 start ranking in ability or potential but the vast majority, lik 98% of the players for each team are 1 star for both potential and ability. Am I missing something? I am new to OOPT8, been playing on previous versions. |

I suggest that you wait for Cubby's next version which will include ratings change. Everything should be fixed.

RE: Question On Star Rating
Okay, so it is a problem with the roster set?
I'm anxious to get started, how much problem is it causing for users? Is there any update on when the updated set will be relased? Thanks for your help. |

How do I add the pictures/logos to the saved game? It's been a while since I've played this...

It's not a problem I don't think, you're seeing the ratings in relation to the MLB.
Players who aren't up to major league standard all get a 20 out of 80 rating, or 1 star. It's not the greatest system, it means a 50th round draft pick and a marginal MLB player get the same 1 star rating. Their individual ratings like contact, power etc are how you can tell them apart. You can also use a filter to tell what a player's real rating is, just set 'overall rating is at least 21' to cut all the players who aren't up to scratch - although some 20-rated players will still be able to do a job in the majors. |

Over? Now yes I know the Red Sox and A's already had the season opener in Japan, but they are still coming back and playing a few exhibition games. That's the MLB being weird. Also I was watching spring training games today.
