Collage feeder

1. What, specifically, were you doing when the problem occurred? Include the specific screen you were on when the problem occurred.

The day after the MLB draft my collage GM profile gives me an error that there are people on it's DFA and that they need to be taken care of before the day can continue. In the feeder tacation area there is no way to get to the DFA area.

2. What happened? Was there an error message? If so, what was the specific message?

The message was: Pittsburgh Panthers have players on the DFA that need to be delt with before the day can end (or something like that).

3. Were you able to repeat the error with this same game? With another game? If so, what steps did you take?

Yes, it's happen 2 of the first 3 years of this leage. The GM profile resigned andvanced a day and then used the commish re-hire work around.

4. If relevant, what do you think the program should have done?

Undrafted feeder league players should automaticly be sent to the FA market from human controled teams.

5. What is your league configuration (fictional/historical, etc.)

fictional/historical (it a really really big league with both

6. Are you a Mac or PC user?

PC -- Also this is for 2007 not 8

Do you have the "Prevent any AI roster changes" checkbox selected in the Home -> Options & Ballpark settings? What is your setting for Roster Moves in the Manager Options page?

I do not have prevent any AI roster changes checked, on the manager page it's human GM roster moves only, but when the pop up came, I did hit the let AI handle all roster moves to try and get by the problem (it did re-do the line-ups, and did some promotions/demotions to the reserve roster) I tried to go on vacation and let the AI handle all the moves. I had my Commish profile take control of the team and there doesn't seem to be anyway to get to the DFA area in a feeder league.

Did the Commish profile Act As the team, or did you quit your job and have the Commish profile accept the job?

Act as while I was still hired and I also switched that profile to comish mode and still couldn't get to the DFA screen.

And this is happening in a college league?

I've just added a feeder college league to a game and I can't even see a way to put a college player on DFA - there's no game setup option to turn it on either.

Can you export your game to csv and I'll send you a PM with my email address and a list of csv files to send.

Unless you've got Excel...

in which case

1) look in leagues.csv to find the league ID for the college league you're having problems with
2) open up players_roster_status.csv and put a filter along the headers. Column AA is designated for assignment, so use the filter on the header to select only those with value 1, and then filter Column C to the league ID found in step 1. That should give you the player ID for the player causing the problem, and if you look in players.csv you'll be able to find his name and look for him in the game and find out what he's doing and where.

Yes, it only happens in a collage league, right after the draft. My thought is that it is players that don't get drafted (the last draft class had more players than needed about 1150 for 25 rounds with 30 teams (only need 750)) and these leftovers get stuck in DFA instead of being released automaticly into the FA pool. (for non-human GM's it releses them automaticly, but for human GM's it seems to leave you in the DFA problem that the only way I was able to get through was to quit the team and then re-hire myself the next day)

Right now I'm about halfway through the collage season and and at least 2 months from the draft, I play out all of my games and all 3 of my profiles currently have thier seasons going so it might be a while before I get to the draft and get to the situation where I can either look or email you the cvs.
