Rule 5 Rights Removal?

Is there any way to remove the "Must be on Active Roster or 15-Day DL for entire season" status from a player drafted in the Rule 5?

Say for example if someone trades money to the team they drafted him from, to buy "full rights", so that he may be demoted?

In OOTP? No.

In MLB? I dunno, maybe. I mean, I guess you could work out a deal wherein the player's original team agrees to refuse to claim him when he is demoted. I'm not sure if money can be attached. I ... suppose that the player could be returned to the original team and then traded back to the team that drafted him in exchange for money.

Actually, this is a case where OOTP is basically doing it like MLB does. Rule 5 draftees must remain on the drafting team's 25 man roster (or DL) for the entire season following the draft in question or be offered back to his original team. It's more than common for the teams involved to work out a deal (trade of some sort) after the fact, or before the drafted player is offered back to his original team, as the rules would require before being removed from the 25 man.

Other than disabling the Rule 5 draft altogether, or simply handling the issue in Commish mode with the player editor, I can't think of a work-around.

I figured that in OOTP it wasn't possible.

Thanks guys.
