NOBL moves to 2007/v8 - Longtime league now has openings

NOBL (National Online Baseball League - www.nobl.net)

We have been around the OOTP world since v4. We started as a purely fictional league with real team names in 2001 and have made it to 2019. What started as a 20 team league is now 24 teams strong.

The time has now come for us to jump forward to OOTP 2007 and as such have to replace several GM's. This decision did not come easy but it is a decision we will stand behind. If I had to sell someone on NOBL I would emphasize the following

1) Consistency - there are 12 GM's that have been in the league at least 9 seasons and 9 that have 14 seasons or more (heck 5 of us go back to 2002). We aren't going to break up our community and just dissapear like some leagues.

2) Parity - Everyone has a chance at a winning team. There are always reasonable FA's, teams looking to trade, and there have been a lot of different teams at the top (including an expansion team). We have an 85m cap and its opened up the league tremendously in the 12 plus years we have had it

3) An Opportunity - You will have the chance to join a league that is moving into a new version of the game and help steer your team and the league. While your team will be established, you can some in and make your stamp as the first GM in 2007 for that team. Also you can help us move a historic OOTP league into the new game w/ any expertise you bring

We will be doing the draft and FA starting in Version 6 on Tuesday night with rd 1 & day 1 LIVE so get in quickly and you can be involved from the start!! If you dont have v6 you can still join now and send FA offers via email. We convert to 2007 after Spring Training.

Farm: 6th
Top Prospects: P Andrade & 1B Ciprian
Top (youngsters posing as) Veterans: Former #1 Overall OF McRay, SS Alcaide & 1B Ken Suggs & SP Guarino
Outlook: In a division with 2 teams that are legitamate title contenders, Atlanta is a pitching staff away from being competitive. Good thing they have a potential #1-2 in Guarino/Andrade however the rest of the pitching staff needs an overhaul.

Giants
2018 - 72-90 (2nd)
Farm: 5th
Top Prospects: P Brooks & C Townsend
Top Veterans: OF Grillo & C Devera & SP Starks
Outlook: Has a nice collection of developed prospects which could be combined with a few vets to give the Cardinals a run. Of the 3 co-last place teams in the NL Midwest they have the best chance at making a quick turnaround.

Cardinals
2018 - 88-74 (1st)
Farm: 16th
Top Prospect: P Mitchell
Top Veterans: OF Briganti & C Lail & SP Coy & SP Bosworth & P Millikan
Outlook: The head of the class of our weakest division has a really nice staff and 3-4 hitters but needs to make some moves or they will slide back to .500 real fast.

AL

Detroit(2001 NOBL Champ)
2018 - 92-70 (1st)
Farm: 19th
Top Prospects: (will fill out tomorrow)
Top Vets: (will fill out tomorrow)
Outlook: Great staff and OF with some nice prospects in AA/AAA. A very deep division means that they will need to plan ahead because NY is a great veteran team and Toronto could be an up and comer

Pittsburgh
2018 - 81-91 (3rd)
Farm: 4th
Top Prospects: (will fill out tomorrow)
Top Vets: (will fill out tomorrow)
Outlook: Had a great deep farm and a formidable offense. Could challenge in the division with the right moves

KC
(2007 & 2015 NOBL Champ)
2018 - 82-80 (3rd)
Farm: 13th
Top Prospects: (will fill out tomorrow)
Top Vets: (will fill out tomorrow)
Outlook: Time to rebuild! Has 2-3 really good parts but mismanagement has led to this once proud franchise in need of a major overhaul. This team will be a challenge.
