My first Kuffrey

The first Kuffrey appeared in my league in 2005. His first name was William and is a 3-star CF originally drafted by the Twins but later traded to the Marlins. Now into 2012, Willie is leading the NL in SB's with 40 and consistantly appears on the league leader boards in triples and SB's.

I'm interested to hear your tales of Kuffrey or other prominant OOTP figures who lended their names to the database.

My 2nd Kuffrey came in year 2012 of the same league. This time he entered the league as a 3 star left handed middle reliever and was drafted in the 2nd round by the Padres. Patrick Kuffrey has a career 12-22 record with a 4.41 ERA but I recently accepted him in a trade from San Diego. I hope he can turn his career around at this point.

As for the 1st Kuffrey in my league, William has bounced around a little playing for 4 teams over the past 5 seasons. At age 31, he's now a 2.5 star player who can hit the longball as well as steal a base. His power has improved greatly since his early seasons and he has averaged 23 homeruns over the past 4 seasons!

18 seasons into my career manager league and 2 Kuffreys! Will there be more?

In my American Baseball League, I started managing the Cleveland Coyotes. Steven Kuffrey happened to be my second baseman. Way to be inconspicuous.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

The year is now 2021 and a 3rd Kuffrey has entered my league. This time Cole Kuffrey is a 24 year old 1 star starting pitcher drafted near the end of the 4th round by the Seattle Mariners. Can't believe that a Kuffrey could be less than 4 stars!

Updates on the other Kuffreys:

Willie Kuffrey CF (35 years) - Willie has had a fairly solid career. His career batting average is now .258 but he has managed to hit 238 homeruns over his 14 year career. 2020 was a great season for Willie as he set career bests in average (.291), homeruns (34), RBI (116), Runs (107) and OPS (.893). How long will he last?

Patrick Kuffrey MR (30 years) - Patrick has grown into a 4.5 star middle reliever over his 9 year career. He has just a 21-36 record with 20 saves, and his career ERA is 4.32. He had an opportunity to pitch in the postseason in 2018 and went 1-0 with 7.72 ERA in 4.2 innings. Not specatcular, but obviously good enough for a victory.

Will there be more by the name of Kuffrey?

Just wondering, any way to edit the .dat file and add my name to the list? I've heard about it, but maybe don't have the software or something.

Yes, just open it with a text editor(wordpad will do), making sure to "uncheck" the option to "open all files of this type with...." and then just save it.

Thanks Steve. By the way, why do the wife/girlfriend names seem to stop at "L" alphabetically?
