RFG - "Realistic" Setting
Has anyone played around with this setting much? I'm considering generating a bunch of fighters for a fictional universe using this setting. Will I still need to use TC's to pad the records of my "real" fighters?

Depends how many fighters you plan on using in each division if it's a large number you will get a good amount of 0-2 rated fighters if you use smaller numbers then you may want to generate some 0's or 1's

my suggestion would be, build your universe without tomato cans -fictionally when they're on beginning most of the fighters are rated 0- and then, bring up tomato cans at will from the countries you wish; get them into a different group just to feed them to your legit fighters to build up records -or will they fight at regional or national level-; it won't be a logical thing for your top prospects to fight between them with 0-0 or 1-0 records

The RFG will allow me to age my TC's as well ... some fights will be easier for prospects than others depending on the stage of the TC. If I am hand holding a fighter then I can make sure I pick TC's that are beginner. I think I will bring in about 10 new ones per weight class every year.

Random has more higher rated fighters as beginner while realistic is a bit more tame but with the way I got my uni set up everyone fights no matter what and the TC's go to contender/new fighter class to train newer rfg fighters. I like teh way I got it set up in fact going to try out tonight.

In my uni, I've generated 200 fighters in each weight class. I'm in the process of sorting and grouping them, and I'd say I'm very happy with the distribution. With that amount, I have a decent enough number of stars, and some colorful tomato cans. It's also fun to see Sao Tome and Principe produce a dominant fighter.

I'm running a kind of trial in the fictional universe I just started. I'm using 8 weight classes. 7 were created with "real" fighters and 1 with all the fighters created on the realistic setting. I'm only 10 months. I'll post my findings once I sim a few years.
