Interesting, though, to see the monster VORP with only 86 RBI's (I assume it's season-end here). It's the RC/27 that does it, I guess. BA 60 points higher than the runner-up, that's domination! So is VORP 50% higher than number 2 and double number 3.

It is season end but remember it's only a 112-game season. And with 8 teams, a couple weak replacement players could skew the number.

Yes, sorry, I forgot that when I posted. So, 86 RBI's in a 112 game season would project to 124 in 162 games. Pretty impressive. I would suggest hitting him every time up, hoping for an injury (just kidding; I never advocate violence in any situation, not even simulated baseball ).

Game One of the Championship Series might have been a lot closer had their nerves not gotten the best of the Keystones. Pastime Club ace, Clark McGurl would face off against Keystone starter, Thaddeus Whitmore. Fleet-foot centerfielder, Jimmy Vellenoweth, singled in the top of the 2nd and then proceeded to steal second and third off Pastime catcher Rube Zahn's aging arm. A sacrifice fly by Lynn Wyatt brought him home to open the scoring for the 'Stones. The Patsies responded in the bottom half of the second by taking advantage of noticeably shakey starter, Thaddeus Whitmore. Whitmore hit Grant Jago, walked Popeye Locke, and then overthrew first on a Clark McGurl sac bunt all in rapid succession. A Sandy Farris double brought in McGurl to put the Pastimers up 3-1. Keystone shortstop, Lester Eldridge, ripped a solo dinger in the 3rd to help right the Keystone ship only to have Rube Zahn match it in the bottom of the 3rd for the Pastimers. 'Stones 2B, Cleo Neal, crushed a monster, 464-ft solo homer in the 5th, hoping to ignite a comeback but it would be his only hit of the day. A Lester Eldridge double brought in pinch-hitting Freddie Poll for the 'Stones in the top of the 7th to tie the game at 4. This would not last long as a Rube Zahn fly to center pops out of the glove of Jimmy Vellenoweth. Pastimers Elmer Hoyle and Orlander Good would score on the error breaking the deadlock in the bottom of the inning. Grant Jago strokes a double to bring in Zahn for good measure before the side is retired. As both team's bullpens come in to play, Sandy Farris doubles in a run, stretching the lead to 4. Patsy closer, Eben MacFeat, shuts the door on a Keystone comeback as the Pastime Club win Game One, 8-4.
