Simming the 1901-2007 seasons

I am currently simming the whole history of baseball starting in 1901 and running right through 2007 just to see where people go and such.

I am going to post things that
I see are kinda neat and if anyone wants to see something please let me know

well, after pouring over all the info I have seen some pretty awesome things. However, there were a lot of CEI's to some big players like Barry Bonds and Walter Johnson.

Here are some pretty great things I have seen...

The PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES were the best team as far as World Series go winning 12 overall.

The TEXAS RANGERS were the best team overall winning at a clip of .535 in their career starting in 1961.

Tony Conigliaro was a 4 time gold glover and 3 time all star that hit .267 over his 14 year career spent with a number of teams. He had stops in Kansas City, Oakland, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Detroit, Houston, Chicago with the Cubs, New York Giants and the Seattle Mariners. Overall his stat line is as follows.

Billy played in 13 season from 1968 to 1982 with 6 teams including playing with his brother in Oakland. Billy was not as good as his brother however had a few decent seasons. Overall he wasn't anything to write home about. He was drafted 3rd round (43rd overall) by the Oakland A's.

Here are his career totals.

GP 625 AB 1480 R 151 H 353 2B 79 3B 4 HR 35 RBI 219 BB 106 SO 271 SB 9 AVE .239 OBP .293 SLG .368 OPS .661

His best season was 1970 when he was the regular center fielder for the A's. he hit .278 with 14 homers and 79 rbi.

Fisk was a solid catcher with a bunch of teams. he played 16 seasons with Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, San Francisco Giants, And Detroit Tigers. Fisk played in 3 all star games. He was drafted 17th overall by the Boston Red Sox but didn't really do much with the club. He was traded for a minor leaguer to the Phillies where he had 3 huge seasons. After a bad injury was let go by the Phillies and picked up by the Red Sox again for a year and released after playing only a handful of games.

The next season he signed with the Astros and really helped make that pitching staff something special. After being there for 3 seasons, Fisk had another big injury and was released in the off season. Signing in San Francisco, Fisk re-established himself as a solid catcher and was traded to the Detroit Tigers for 2b Domaso Garcia. He remained with the Tigers for the next 5 seasons before calling it quits in 1986. Fisk never won any major awards or the World Series but was a solid player over his career.

Luis played 20 years in the major leagues before retiring in 1983. Drafted 6th overall in the 1963 draft to the Boston Red Sox, Tiant exploded on the scene the next year. HE played for 9 different teams and played well overall but wasn't a number one guy on any roster. The only standout in his career was the 1973 All star game where he was the winning pitcher.

Teddy ballgame had an outstanding career. He was drafted in 1938, 1st overall by the Cincinnati Reds and he went on to be an 8 time MVP, 10 time all star and a gold glove winner. He also won the 1946 triple crown. In his 22 year career that ended up in the Hall of Fame, Ted never once got to hold the World Series Trophy. After 6 season with the Reds and having them not make the playoffs even with Ted, the Reds declined to pick up the contract of Williams and he signed a 4 year contract with the Boston Red Sox. He would never play again for another team. He played 16 season with the Red Sox but he only made the playoffs 3 times due to a horrible team that surrounded him.

Williams is the active leader in career home runs with 682.

What database did you use?

What types of settings? Did you use minor leagues? Trades? Free agency? Financials?

I used just a standard import. I used the DB that comes with the game itself. Didn't alter the setting at all.
Trades, FA and Financials are all on.

His is currently playing in his 6th season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 6 seasons he is a 3 time all star hitting .318. I will update his totals as they finish out.

Nolan played 17 seasons after being drafted 2nd overall in 1965 by the San Francisco Giants. Ryan won the Cy Young award in 1974 while pitching for the Giants and Pirates. He was 21-7 that season with a 2.45 era. Unfortunately, he never really panned out quite like real life.

His career totals are as follows.

No they didn't but I left the player movements at about the same as what they are in real life now. Players moved a lot less back then. I am going to resim this again when I have more time and use a lower setting for movement.

It would turn out to be the best move that the Giants would ever make. Ruth had a run starting in 1922 with the Reds that lasted into the 1933 season of playing in the World Series. He played 11 seasons with the Giants before signing in Boston with the Red Sox for 1 season.

Ruth was only a 3 time all star but won 10 MVP awards, which is a record in my league. One of the most powerful hitters of all time, Ruth was hampered by injuries over his whole career and rarely played his full amount of game. Even though, his names are all over the career leaderboards and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
