a few things I'd love to see in ootp9
your thoughts...
one thing I think would be a nice addition is to have a separate rating for minors and majors. Some guys are just great minor leaguers and can't do a lick in the majors. It would also make the minor league stats more realistic. Its too often you see players start out in the low minors with stat lines like this... 2000 rookie laeague - 1 hr 2001 A - 1 hr 2002 AA - 6 hr 2003 AAA - 9 hr 2004 AAA - 15 hr 2005 majors - 35 hr 2006 majors - 40 hr etc etc A good way to remedy this would be to have minor league ratings. This would also be a great way to get excited about a prospect say who is hitting 40 hrs in class A ball. The other thing they could do is keep the first few years of these players in the majors "unknown" and then create a separate rating system for his majors ratings. The other thing that would be real nice is changing the HoF selection process over to the individual and be prompted(ie rule 5 draft/pre season/reg season/etc). The HoF screen would show players available(6 year wait) and ask you to elect/pass up but keep them on for the 15 years/never get a chance again). It would be also nice to keep the parameter options open so that you can have a min./max so you can weed out people. Although I do think they should add an option to include/exclude people who's careers were cut short. thoughts?? |

Wouldn't it be easier and less complex to just adjust your minor league league totasl in v2007/v8?

I like the hof suggestion, that would be fun.
Looking at my minor lg leaders over the years I see realistic totals, though I adjusted league totals a bit to get results I like. |

When running a historical league, have certain foreign leagues (particularly Japan, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico) also generate the correct teams, cities, stadiums, nicknames, and players (if possible on the latter).
Have the minors and feeders (at least NCAA) also adjust themselves historically. Have winter ball clubs keep several slots open for rookies from the majors to go down and get additional playing time and then be brought back to the major league team. Allow for split squads in spring training games. |
