Someone has taken my son!

Well, after 25 seasons simming the game, I finally had a son have decent enough skills to "make it." He began in the minors as a 2-star prospect at short, and within three years, he was a 4-star prospect and rising fast through my minor league system.

The only problem is that he has just disappeared! He was promoted from AA to " ". The quotes are there to indicate a space. He was promoted to nowhere. Was he abducted by aliens? Did George Steinbrenner whisk him away to an underground hideout to give him a nationality-change operation and bring him over from Japan?

All I want to know is, where is my son? And how do I get him back? I'll pay anything. Money is no object. Just bring him home.

P.S. On a serious note, does anyone know how to get the player back?

It is probably the hidden player's problem. We cant do anything about that for the moment, I hope this will be fix with the next patch.
Just verify in the "ALL roster" column if you see him. He's probably there but not in the active, AAA, AA, A, DL.

note: Maybe he's in Irak

If it took 25 years, are you sure it's YOUR son? Did you have a DNA test done?

Okay, I figured it out. He was there in the "ALL" column, but not on any of my rosters. After deleting 26 players from my AAA club (I like to trade for prospects...

), he reappeared. Of course, I had to delete 18 more in order to make sure that it wouldn't happen again. I finally got it to the point where there were 39 players on my AAA roster, and "Automanage minors" didn't push it back to 40 without changing my AA and A roster numbers. So OOTP5 doesn't check to see whether the ceiling number of players has been reached at a particular level before promoting them? Should definitely be a priority for future releases. Not that Markus has a lot on his plate or anything...

So, it looks like Mr. Big Boy won't be getting his ransom money after all!
