The Big Bad Baseball League will be kicking open its door this coming January.

-Actual teams w/ Modern Rosters
-League will begin w/ an actual rosters file (I took a cubbyfan roster set and edited player ratings to reflect what I feel are accurate ratings based upon recent player performance and 5 year Pecota Projections)
-Each GM will be allowed to keep 5-10 players (number has not yet been set) from their team and system, the rest will then be put into a common draft pool and we will draft 10-20 rounds (number has not yet been set), the remainder of players will be disbursed through an auto draft.

As I stated above, the game is required. Additionally, regular AIM use is required. I feel that being able to communicate w/ other GMs through AIM facilitates league participation. If you are not interested in use AIM, this league isn't likely for you. (Not to say you have to be on 24/7, just that you should at least be around a couple times a week).

As a commish of a former league he was in I highly suggest you get there, grab a team and get ready for a very active, and great league, run by a good guy, and great commish.

Looks like kickoff in just over a week.

Now these are not the dregs of the league because we are only going to retain a handful of good players from our teams and everyone else will be going into the draft pool. So w/ these teams you can retain a few good young players and then will be on equal footing w/ every other franchise. Guys like Butler, Gordon, Lincecum, Cain and Zimmerman will be able to be kept and then you will be able to round out your roster during the inaugural league draft.

I have/am going through and rerating almost every player in the league from the cubbyfan roster set (including making sure the top spects of each team are included) and when I am done this will be the most definitive roster set available in an online league. As you can see the league has quickly almost reached capacity.

Currently only the Nationals Open, but even they offer some solid keepers in Ryan Zimmerman, Michael Burgess, Chris Marrero, and Ross Detwiler, all of whom are 4.5 stars in potential.

I might also open a couple of teams later today if a couple GMs fail to get signed up for the forum.
