Online leagues and CPU trading

Hi everyone,

I just picked up OOTP8, and I'm having a great time so far. I've never played in an online league, so a friend and I were experimenting with a standard 2007 MLB setup with all but 2 teams set to CPU control.

I'm a little unclear how trading needs to work when there are CPU teams involved - the manual says trades can't be exported, and I see that in the UI when I'm acting as myself, rather than as the commisioner. Is there still AI governing CPU trades? Do I just need to take trade proposals on behalf of any human players, and submit them in commisioner mode?

My apologies if this is a painfully stupid question...

thanks so much,
Brendan

I've commished two and a half leagues in my day and I have absolutely no idea.

Here are my assumptions (remember: ass-you-me) on the matter...

Yes, there is still AI governing CPU trades. If so, and if human teams are receiving trade propoals from the AI that they wish to accept, this would need to be done as a Commissioner.

Thanks, Kelric!

I'll experiment with my buddy and, if I actually puzzle out what's going on, I'll report back to my thread with any details.

I do find it strange that individual players can't export trade requests - granted, the trade system would have to reconcile competing offers from multiple players, but I would assume it has to do that anyway if multiple CPU teams make an offer for the same player(s).

Anyway - off to mess with it some more...
