Ootp8

Hey guys,

I haven't had a version of ootp since I believe version 6 or 6.5. I'm currently in the Middle East right now through the Army and can't access the main page because the base I'm on is filtering it out but not the forum -- it's weird. I'm going to have my parents buy me a copy of the game (OOTP8) but when it comes to the patches do you have any idea of how I could get them?

Any answers would be appreciated, thanks.

Bah, I might just wait for the game until I get back in another month and a half. Been anticipating getting this game for about a week but I don't have this much time to be on the computer and wait for each new patch to dl. The setup file for the game is something like 98 mb and it says it'll take over an hour minimum and I can't be on the comp more than 20 minutes. *Sigh*

Order it on disk. Just confirm by e-mail that you are getting version 8.0.0.12 (or later, I'm anticipating).

PM me with your address and I'll ship you the game file on CD. You can e-license it from there.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

You can also order the game on a CD from Viatech, or download it from our mirror (link above, thanks to Wolf).
You will have to license the game online, but you could also use the "Get off-line license" feature. Just click on "License" in the purchase screen, then on the "Off-Line License" button.

That is extremely nice of you! I wish more people would take a little more time just to help someone else out. Just wanted to point out that this is nice to see, especially during the holiday season

Does anyone have paypal so I can wire them money to get me an offline license? I can't access to buy it the only thing I can access site wise is the forum. I don't know why, but the internet is like that here. I'll even send you the money before you get me the license.

It's going to take three days to get the money into paypal. If anyone can do this please let me know, it'd be appreciative. If I can do anything to help any of you out just say the word.

Does anybody here have PayPal who is willing to help Bowers out with this?

It's Christmas and he's overseas.

Actually I'm from overseas (UK) and it's Christmas here too, so I might be able to help. Perhaps Bowers can e-mail me and I'll do what I can.

I'd be willing to throw in $20 US to a fund to buy licenses for people posted overseas. Maybe we could buy 5 or 10 games and get them out to people over the holidays.

Hey guys,

First off, I'd like to say thanks for your support. I've been corresponding back and forth with The Wolf in pm's and he's been great help. I haven't posted on these boards since November of '04 until now and I don't think I'll be leaving these boards, as you can see, there's a lot of good people here. What prompted me to post was the email I got telling me OOTP8 came out.

When I saw that some sort of lightbulb went on in my head and I said, 'I haven't had fun like ootp in a while.' So here I am now trying to get a license. Basically I'm overseas in the middle east right now on an Air Force base(I'm in the Army). I've been here for 10 months now and this internet pretty much blocks everything. It blocks wikipedia, hell, WIKIPEDIA. I have to go backdoor through google to access it. It blocks everything to do with games which it's a wonder how I even get access to the ootp forum.

The internet filter has elicense.com uncategorized so I can't even access elicense to even attempt to get a license for the game. What I'm proposing, I guess you could say, is I put $30 in my paypal account last night and I'll send it to your paypal first if somebody could get me a license.

The idea of sending multiple copies overseas is a great idea, but 8-10 copies would be $160-$180 and that's not exactly cheap, especially during holiday season. If you guys did do that that'd be nothing less short of amazing and really generous. In three days paypal should have my money in there, if someone would let me transfer it to them in lieu of them getting me a license that'd be great.

Thanks for your time,
-M_Bowers

This is what it says when I try to install.

It's saying unable to get or install a license

Retrieval of license failed with error code = 97

License installation failure.

The off-line license package is incomplete or cannot be decoded.

Please make sure you have pasted the entire off-line license package into the dialog. IF you still receieve this error, this indicates an internal error on the license servers. Please contact technical support.

I shouldn't have to be online when I install it because it's an offline license -- just weird to me.

Try doing it when you aren't online. If it stills screws up, contact e-license.

You can either email support@elicense.com or visit http://www.elicense.com/UserSupport
