I have OOTP 2007 for mac. Will these rosters still work? And what exactly is the process to download them and get them to work if they can?

Also, one problem with the 2007 rosters was that if I wanted to use facegen pictures the game often crashed when I went to the profiles of certain players. Is this fixed in this version?

Anything else I should know? To be honest I just don't feel like looking through 7 pages or whatever of posts.

This is all of course only if it works for macs.

I can't seem to find Tyler Colvin, who was the Cubs' 06 first round pick, so I think he's missing.

Having a small quirk with this roster set. Wondering if anyone else has seen the same.

When I load the set in either OOTP 2007 or OOTP8, change setting to allow AI roster moves, take control of the Giants and make free agent offers, the players only respond to my proposals (either favorably or asking for something) the same day they sign to other teams, thus meaning I can make a counter offer. When I set no AI roster moves, all players sign with me and only send their initial favorable response the same day they sign. Anyone else seen this happen?

Hate to be a newb here but can someone enlighten me how to upload Cubby's rosters? I have only used quickstarts in my past simulations and I have tried multiple ways to import the rosters, pictures, logos, etc. Nothing has worked so someone please help me out. Thanks.

This is just the way the game works. Sometimes they will respond early with a complaint about the contract, but otherwise you probably won't have a chance to change the original offer.

Open your My Documents. Then if you have 2007 click on Sports Interactive or if you are using V8 then click on Out Of The Park Developments Then the name of the game, followed by the data directory. Should look something like:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data

or

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 8\data

Your mods go in here. Cubby's, for example, would go in saved-gaves. Extract the file and place that directory into saved_games.

PadresFan has tutorials on his site. Just use the directories associated with the game you are using:

Not sure if anyone will be interested, but in setting up my new league, I am going through a cubbyfan roster set and editing the player ratings to be more representative of real life. I am using recent stats as well as some pecota projections from baseball prospectus. If you are interested in a copy of the file when it is finished, contact me at hurn0003 on AIM.

Neither of my 2 solo leagues work this way, though. There it works as expected where you make an offer and get feedback and can negotiate while the player fields AI offers as well.

In the cubbyfan set, you make an offer and a few days later, the player signs with another team. I even received "I'm favoring your offer" messages and they still signed away the same day. The free agent issue may crop up because the game starts on Jan 1, a bit late in the FA signing period. I've played out a few seasons with the set, and FA seems to work as normal beginning from the end of the first regular season (as long as you get salary demands toned down a bit in game setup).

Injury Log is right that the game starts late, so the free agent process isn't the same. Still, it isn't uncommon for this to happen, in any league. This happens all the time in the game. There is no real negotiation, more like keep trying to hit a number they will take, no chance to offer more if they say they like it and very little time to offer more if they say they don't.

You may be used to at least getting some feedback, but it isn't a full on negotiation. It isn't uncommon to see the message back and sign on the same day, no matter what league you are using.

Hmm, that maybe true. If this started on the free agent filing day, it's likely be much different. Still, it'd be nice to be able to fix the team up just a little bit.

Alright guys, lots of down time this week at the parent's house without much to do. I'm hoping that I can get something out ASAP in the next few days. Also I forgot to mention, MLB.com updates their player profile pictures when a trade happens so I'm trying to update all of those (Haren, Tejada, even guys like Callaspo) so if you see a MLB guy with the wrong team jersey on his pic who has officially signed (guys like LaTroy Hawkins and Vizcaino haven't so their new duds aren't up yet) please let me know also.

Would you guys recommend going with Cubby's rosters over the quickstart on OOTP 8? Also, how do I get rid of all logos so I can just use colors. And I know the last version of these rosters if I used facegen things would screw up and crash with certain players. Does this still happen?

pretty sure they are very different in the fact that Cubby's rosters will be as of today and essentially headed into this upcoming season; while the other set is for this past season as of 1/1/07. Both are probably outstanding, while I would guess the quickstart has probably been tested more for it's long-term use...but not sure. I'm a cubfan and budman, so I anxiously await the next Cubby release.

To get rid of the logos you can just go into OOTP folder within My Documents/data and either delete all of the logos out of the 'logos' folder, or move them somewhere else for safe keeping.
If they aren't in there, then check the : OOTP/data/saved_games/yourleaguefolder.lg/news/html/images : folder.

Franklin Gutierrez shows up as a 1B; he's a CF/RF
Aaron Laffey is listed as a MR; he's a SP
Paul Byrd's in twice; once retired, once FA; should be on CLE
there are also two Jamie Carrolls; one should be with CLE
Peralta is listed as 3B; he's a SS

Next update will be a big one, I'm going through and updating all the prospects so that none of them are overrated currently (something that has been a long time coming) and updating the entire National League with prospect ratings as of BA's Top 10 2007 Prospects. In addition you'll get fixed league totals, fixed player salary demands, and updated roster moves to whenever the file is released (most likely tomorrow or the day after)
