OOTP 8 or 9

Andreas and Markus is there anything in the future plans of going back and re-doing OOTP6.51 and making it into a new Game with that format?? I really hope so because I've bought the last two OOTPB 2006 and 2007 and both are really hard for most of us to use with that format. What I was thinking all that I would like to be added would be a fourth Minor League Team you could use for a Rookie League Team say a 82 Game Schedule and a Minor League Play-Off in the OOTP6.51 format.

I hope this is very possiable to do. The old format was the best I think. My Son and I run a On-Line League in ATHFBL and we tried both 2006 and 2007 and our GM's all voted to go back to OOTP6.51. So if at all possiable PLEASE think about this.

If there is any way that I could help out I'll do whatever you need if I can do it.

Thank you, Rick (RJB7777777)

Post Will SEGA take your ideas?

Do you think being that you and SEGA parted ways some of your ideas will leave with them? SEGA is in the process of making a boxing game.Do you think ideas from Title Bout Championship Boxing may end up there?

This is from the new issue of GI(Game Informer)...........

artical:
2K Sports Boxing Game: Round 1

American-born middleweight champion of the world Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik recently let slip that 2k Sports has licensed him for inclusion in an upcoming boxing title. 2K reps would neither confirm nor deny the rumor, but since it's come from Pavlik himself, it's hard to see it as anything but legit. Besides, we're not going to call the middleweight champion a liar to his face or in print.

2KSports is part of SEGA. There's been alot of talk about a boxing game from different boxers Pavlik,Mayweather and others.

SEGA didn't ever have any interest in TB and we never discussed a boxing game with SEGA or SI. If SEGA makes a boxing game then it will have nothing to do with TB. I guess it will be more like a 3D boxing game for consoles etc.

Yeah Andreas it is going to be a 3D game(research and connections) It's 2K brand is known for it's sim aspects of it's titles (even though it's a buttons masher as these board say) I just wonder if they have been laying in the cut paying attention to you guys and may take something form you.

Most people at this point have gotten used to OOTP2007, and it is truly a much better format once you really get used to it. There are some old things I miss, but the old format came with limitations that could not be gotten past. The total rebuild was necessary. You do have to put in significant time to get used to the changes, though.

the best thing about 6.5 and earlier version were they were simple to play but difficult to master. I could learn the game in my 20-30 minute time frames. You can't do that with the 06-07 versions, i gave up.

and if you don't want to use it it's not a better platform. and to me saying you just have to get used to it is just like eating crappy food, if you eat it enough times it no longer tastes crappy. Its still crappy you have just fooled your brain into thinking its not.

Changing interfaces isn't easy, and they didn't make this change any easier when they left so many things out. The best comparison I can draw for the change from 6.5 to 2006/2007 is the change from XP to Vista. Both of them inspired a lot of bitterness.

I'm with Wolf. It's a travesty of an OS. Though Andreas, you're one of the few I can forgive for using it because you need to know the stuff you code works on it. That's about the only reason to own it.

My new machines, first thing I did was nuke the Vista install and get XP on there. Lesser of two evils.

Well, I have to work on Windows, Mac and Linux. Not just using it, but really working on it, i.e. I have to manage to make programs compile, get used to the API and so on. If something doesn't work or if I don't know how it has to be done, I have to search the web or the documentation until I find a way to get it to work on that OS.

Personally I still prefer using XP.
Next would be Vista. And then a long time nothing.

But hey, everybody just use the OS which he likes most!

I like Windows 3.1 the most... will you be making the next version of OOTP compatible with it?

No, even better! We found out that there are emulators for Commodore C64 computers available for almost any operating system. So we will release OOTP9 exclusively for the Commodore C64

I have too many games not working with Vista -- my scanner does not work with Vista -- my Digital camera takes twice as long (if it reconizes the device)..

I do not like the system - a friend talked about shutting down the security but others say that just opens the system up to viruses.

Hey all,

Is OOTP 9 coming this season, or next year, or has it not been announced? I'm debating on if I should just wait three months for OOTP 9 or dive into OOTP 8.

Thanks
