Player Import Problem-- HELP!!!

I want to import Babe Ruth into modern times....from 1981 until his retirement, just to see how he would do against modern pitching.

I created the 1981 historical league and I followed the EXACT instructions on this thread telling me how to import a player.

Babe's ID is 12352
The year I want to import is 1921

I've tried a dozen times, and it always states that his ID can't be found.....it doesn't exist.

I'm getting pretty annoyed because I can't see what I'm doing wrong. I've never had a problem before with Lahman 5.0. Everything has worked perfectly up until now.

Please help.

when asked, put in "ruthba01" without the quotes of course , that should work. Lahmans imports work with first 5 letters of last name then two letters from first name, then 01 unless all of the first 7 letters are the same then Lahmans master file lists them with 01, then 02 etc.

Ruth's and any player's ID isn't the "number" it is "ruthba01" last name, first 2 letters of first name and then a number depends on the player.

You need to edit the thread in the FAQ, though. Unless I'm severly mistaken, it says to import the ID from"Column A"...which is the numerical ID.
