Maybe the best league you've never heard of has an opening

The Replacement Level Players Association (RLPA) is a cult. I'll come out and say that right away. It's a cult devoted to hilarity and OOTP baseball, born from a 20 & 30something group of posters at Baseball Think Factory (formerly Baseball Primer). If you can handle that, read on brother (or sista?). Otherwise, go back to YouTubing Larry the Cable Guy, or whatever it is you people that don't like fun do.

http://rlpa.org/

If you were allowed to see our forum, you'd see over 160,000 posts covering 16 seasons since 2004 real time. 148,627 of them are quality. Talk about owner interaction. And that's our second message board. The first one was lost in a freak fire. Don't ask about it.

Like any good cult, RLPA owners don't leave or, if they do, are quickly replaced by a former owner who has come to his senses and realized life isn't a priority. We haven't needed a civilian since May of 2006. But we need one now.

We might need you.

The Detroit Tigers of the RLPA's Historical Baseball League (we run two leagues simultaneously, one MLB historical, one MLB modern day/semi-fictional) are available. Fun facts about the RLPA HBL:

1. Mixed MLB history player pool. I took every player in MLB history, threw out the uninteresting ones, randomized ages and year of introduction and voila.
2. We're in Season #6, grown out of the RLPA root league's insatiable thirst for more OOTP. The RLPA is in Season #16.
3. 15-game sims on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
4. We use Cato.
5. No DH. Coaches and Scouts off. 1-20 Ratings.
6. Soft salary cap.
7. These guys are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet.

The Tigers are blessed with a young Jackie Robinson, Babe Herman, Brian Giles, John Kruk and mucho room for payroll.

If you're not just a casual fan, and are interested in a great OOTP experience, send a message to rancebaby@yahoo.ca. Please include your level of experience with OOTP Leagues, age, your thoughts (if any) about Baseball Think Factory, your experience level dealing with Canadians and whether or not you think Jessica Alba is hotter than Scarlett Johansson. Uptight people and/or children need not apply.

Thanks.

If you prefer Alba to Scarlett, you need to join this league, if only to get your priorities straightened out.

Also, if you're a fan of Dan Wheeler in real life... I'm not saying he's in the league, because he's not in the league. I'm just saying, Dan Wheeler, people.

What, you don't agree that Dan Wheeler is something special? His sister's husband is my online acquaintance!

The HBL is definitely fun, but the real prize here would be getting your name into the future potential owner pool for the RLPA, which is the greatest league ever. Just think about that.

Oh, and since I don't think this has been mentioned, we're still running on good ol' OOTP 6.5. We're like the old man who wants the kids to get off his lawn. We like the way things were, and we don't want to change, dammit!

Ah, the old, go-out-with-this-fun-and-attractive-enough-girl-because-her-sister-is-the-hottest-girl-in-school angle.

The real prize here is access. Whether an owner in RLPA Straight or RLPA HBL, the important thing is the Lounge and that's open to everyone.

RLPA straight?!?

Right, DAL's /elsewhere/.

See, now if you were in the RLPA/HBL, you'd have gotten that.

Seriously, it's an extremely stable league with an amazing camraderie and all the herpetic stomas you can stomach. And it's waiting for you.

The gentleman who had agreed to take the Tigers went MIA. Therefore, we once again have an opening. Any takers?

if it is still open, i might want the job

i gmed a players league, this was just a little tid bit on me in that league, my name is Michael Thompson http://neblsite.com/cato/teams/hal/index.html, it doesn't count the last season of the league when i had 88 wins.

also i increased my fan base from 77 to 100 with smart signings, trading for players that had high popularity, and winning on promotion days. topped off the last season with attendance numbers over 4 million. smashing the previous record that my team set two seasons before that.

my aim is raptorsfan29
