Looking for good MLB Image/Roster Mods

Hey everyone. I just downloaded the game, and I cannot wait to dig into it. I'm a big baseball fan and would like some help picking apart the great mods from the weak ones. Specifically, I'm looking for:

* MLB Rosters
* MLB Jerseys/Logos/Faces/Stadiums

Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, mister. Get ready for a life change!

You don't say whether you already have mods or know where to get them. One stop shopping:

http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/OOTPMods/Main.html

There's naturally a reluctance to praise one member's work over another, so I will just inform you of the ones that I have used:
  • Gambo's ballpark images and stadium data file.
  • Uniform packs by Falcon, fhomess, and Matter 2003, and fictional stuff by silvam14.
  • The facial hair mod by Bobble.
  • Logos by just about everybody.
  • Gambo's photo packs.
  • The MLB 2007 roster by CubbyFan23 and haveband.
  • Mood icons by Bobble.
Again, this is just what I have used in several leagues that I have created so far; there are tons of other mods that I never even tried! So, no nasty messages from folks whose wonderful work I have unintentionally ignored, please.

The best method is trial and experiment, saving games with different mods installed until you find an arrangement that you like. You will be one busy dude if you really get into modifying this already complicated and fascinating game, so consider yourself warned. Enjoy!

Awesome. Thanks!

This is a great resource and I'll be sure to take a look at all of your recos. One quick question, though...what is difference between a roster and what is available on the Schedules/Databases tab on this site? I (perhaps foolishly) would assume that the database would include the rosters.

"Databases" are historical databases, used for importing a historical league. "Rosters" are usually pre-made, ready-to-use saved games.

Continued Confusion

Well, if I wanted to jump in right now to play the 2007 (and on) MLB Season, with updated rosters, logos/unis/hats, stadiums and player photos...would I just download one of the Templates or Universes?

Or would I be better off just independently updating rosters. and parks. and logos. and uniforms...and so on.

Thanks in advance, the initial setup is much more complicated than I would have imagined...

The best roster set for 2007 is the CubbyFan/haveband set. From there, you can add any logo set, jerseys, photos, etc. But the roster set will at least let you start playing ball.

This is very helpful and I have all of these downloaded. However, what do you need to do in order to get these all into the game? Put them all into the MLB 07 folder or what?

Look for the Mod Installation Help page on that same web site. That guy, PadresFan, deserves accolades for just that, IMO, let alone the work he put into collecting and posting the mods themselves.

Edit: The one area in which that page is a bit weak is spelling out where the rosters and universe packages go. Generally, these are merely saved games in folders that end in .lg and thus are stored in the same place where you would find games that you saved yourself from within the game; my documents/sports interactive/data/saved games, if I recall correctly.
