Thusfar. I agree. Penalties have been tough - but Addai & the Pass Rush have been tougher.

And DAMN - Whatta pick by Brackett

It looks like a different Patriots team when they play a good team.

There's some time left but if this holds up there isn't much doubt who the better team is.

Let's keep in mind the Colts have played without 2 of their top 3 WR's, their starting LT, and 2 LB's.

Let's also keep in mind it's in Indy.

Homefield is worth about 3 points, that doesn't exactly even out to losing 1/4 of your starting lineup including your best offensive weapon.

Even if the Pats come back and win, there's no doubt in my mind the Colts are the better team.

I wasn't comparing. Just noting. And, I disagree. Sure the "bookies" see it as 3 points - but is often more. (Not saying it is in this case .. just making an observation).

That said .. that was another horrible pass interference call vs. the Pats. Now before someone jumps me ... I'm not jumping up and saying "the refs are costing N.E. the game - just pointing out it was a bad call.

I agree. That was definitely a phantom penalty.

As impressive as they've been they only played one good team - Dallas. With BB leaving Brady and all his starters in the game with 30 point leads in the 4th quarter to run up the score, well if he gets injured then how great will NE be ? Coaches of most of the other great teams had the class to pull their starters during blowouts. I doubt anyone could even name their backup QB. The 49'ers, Steelers and Cowboys idynasties n the pre-cap era also had great depth which matters later in the season and playoffs and teams in the salary cap era just can't have that kind of depth.

Just curious. Why is pulling your starters "classy" ?

I say this. If a team doesn't want the score ran up on them, well - stop the other team. If a coach feels it's in his teams best interest to practice this play or that play, that they need some gametime 2 minute drill work or whatever -- IMO - that's not unclassy.

With the injuries on both sides, I'm not sure if this game will tell us anything about which is the better team.

It does tell us that these teams are very closely-matched.

I'm surprised the Pats didn't run a fake kneel play right there and toss it deep.

What a game. This one really did live up to the hype, which is rare.

Addai was the best player on the field for 3 quarters, Brady dominated the 4th. Great game, I wish those two teams could play every week as it's not much fun watching either of them roll over JV squads.

Everyone knows the backup QB is Matt Cassel. He is the guy that threw the pick 6 against Miami and then scored the run-up the score td last week.

Here's the remaining Patriots schedule, with current opponent team records. Seven games left on the path to glory. Speculation?

WK 10 Bye
WK 11 at Buffalo (4-4, Home: 3-2)
WK 12 Philadelphia (3-4, Road: 2-2)
WK 13 at Baltimore (4-3, Home: 3-0)
WK 14 Pittsburgh (5-2, Road: 2-2)
WK 15 NY Jets (1-8, Road: 0-4)
WK 16 Miami (0-8, Road: 0-4)
WK 17 at NY Giants (6-2, Home: 3-1)

It figures my team may be the one that they make history against by winning their final game.

Depends. If BB keeps on with the mentality of destroying everyone in order to show that his success has nothing to do with illegal video tapes, they could go undefeated. But if they take their foot off the gas after clinching as most teams do, they won't.

I've seen two teams in my time that I thought capable of going undefeated. Late 90s Broncos and mid-80s Bears. Note that the Giants and Dolphins are on New England's schedule(those being the teams that handed those teams their first loss). I say the odds are against the Patriots, but they could possibly do it. I never thought Denver would lose after TD had 1300 or some-odd yards in the first eight games, and then they lost twice. What will happen is if New England wins a couple more, it is going to be more and more difficult for them to reach the emotional level of their opponents: every team they play, espescially bad ones, will come with the effort of their life knowing they can salvage at least partially a crappy year by being the team that denied history.

I won't dignify the Jets and the Dolphins as trap games, but there are some possible sleepers among the rest who could cause trouble.
