I have a friend in the minors. Mark Rosen, 5th round pick of the Arizona Diamond Backs in the 2002 entry draft. Met him through a friend(now a Division 1 pitcher, hopefully a 2005/06 draft pick) who trained with him. He's a lefty who can throw gas and did fairly well in rookie league last year. I'm gradually trying to get him hooked on OOTP as well.

I grew up near Reading, PA and played in the same little league as Wade Miller. I was totally shocked when he put up big numbers with the Astros in 2001 because I watched him play a lot in high school and while he was a good player there were at least a dozen other guys in the area who were better at that time.

I was once on a summer baseball team with former LA Dodger outfielder Billy Ashley, until he got drafted and signed, then he wasn't eligible in our league anymore. Traitor.

Also went to the same high school as him, he graduated two years before me.

I played with John Mabry and roomed with him on the road for a while.

Also played against Jeff Bagwell in college (he went to Hartford). I've played against Willie Banks, Allen Watson (he hit me in the ass with a pitch and I think I still have the bruise!), and some other guys.

Dave Gallagher (remember him? Played CF for the White Sox and a bunch of other teams in the late 80's and early 90's) went to my high school but graduated before I got there. But I used to work out at a batting cage with him while he was in the minors.

Also, a guy in my fantasy football league played AA last year for the Red Sox (Trenton Thunder).

PS: My cousin dated the daughter of Don Hoak for a while. If you recall, he played 3B for the Pirates some time ago.

My Dad played little league ball with Cal Ripken Jr (Even though the Iron Man was 2 years younger)

I have also met Tim Redding at a baseball camp last summer

I batted against Matt Burch in high school, he was a real nice guy. I know he was drafted, but I am sure where he is at now.

I also played against, Joel Stephens, who ended up drafted by the Orioles. He was a solid player, but unfortunately at a very young age he developed Colon cancer and he ended up losing his fight. He was a great player, and I think he could very well have ended up playing in the majors.

The only player that I know who has made it to the majors from my general vicinity is Kurt Manwaring.

Brian Shouse went to my high school, he is a MR that has bounced around a lot, I believe he just signed with Texas.

T.J. Mathews is from my mom's hometown and was actually best friends with my uncle throughout highschool and college. He is also a MR that has bounced around a bunch, though he can say he was traded for Mark McGwire.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

Jocelyn Thibault and José Theodore lived 5km away from here. Vincent Lecavalier's landlord ewhen he was younger was a woman I know. My mother's neighbor as a kid was a small-time player for the Bruins in the mid-90s, Mark Cornforth. Jason Doig grew up a few blocks away from here, and I went to school with a young prospect names Sébastien Struzinski. Finally, my mother went to school with none other than Raymond Bourque, and my father played baseball against him as a kid.

Hey, I live in Montréal, don't expect me to have any NBA players...
