Has anyone (other than Chappy as I'm sure he has) seen Christopher Higgins play this year? He's having all sorts of trouble putting the puck in a net, but what a player! He's been the sparkplug for the Habs' offense all season long, he creates chances and he is scary in the offensive zone. Other than his inability to score so far, his game has no flaws.

Can't say that I have, but I'm liking the news.

Dare I say, against anotehr team that has sucked ass this year? This is the same team that had a ahrd time getting past Pittsburgh the night before, and you're on the wrong side of a 2:1 shot total. Get a team with good scorers, and Biron's going to wonder when was eh thrown into a shooting gallery.

lol There must only be 2 or 3 teams worth a damn in the NHL this year. Since when is playing at Pittsburgh an easy win??

New Jersey is a good team and beating them 4-0 is an impressive feat.

New Jersey and Pittsburgh are struggling, aren't they?

Still, 4-0 against any team's a nice win.

I guess, at least as much as a projected playoff can possibly struggle through 5 games, not exactly a large sample size.

Your 2nd point says it all, it doesn't matter who you are playing, when you are beating teams 4-0 (twice) and 8-2, you're playing good hockey.

Just got the NHL package today!

Watched San Jose/Detroit, which was a pretty good game. The Zetterberg/Datsyuk combination is really fun too watch, they are flying right now. I was very impressed by the quality of the San Jose announcers...usually I am pretty critical.

I saw some of the Flyers/New Jersey game as well. I have seen a couple of the Philadelphia's games this season and I actually didn't think they were quite as sharp tonight as in the other 2 I have seen, but Biron was really on his game. Which is good for me, since he is in my pool.

Looks like he may have an obstacle on his way to greatness. He was sidelined with a groin injury tonight, which is bad news. Not only because a groin injury is bad for a goalie, but because he's had a lot of groin problems before. It was reported that he got the problem under control in the off-season before 06/07 with a new training regimen, but now it's back.

The same can be said about the worst team in the NHL last season.

Welcome to the pinacle of hockeydom (at least for expressvu viwers.). Are any of them in HD at all, or is all in smear-o-vision still?

You get approximately 1000 games - which is pretty much everything except for the Canucks (local team) and games that are already televised on CBC or TSN.

Of those 1000, about 200 are in high definition. Last night the Boston/Tampa game and the EDM/PHOE game were on in HD. Usually there is at least one game per night on in HD -- they only have 2 channels designated for it and 8 or so for regular TV.

Well, the Pens' defense is atrocious and give very little support to the goaltender. Honestly, it's one of the softest defenses I've ever seen. Marc-Andre Fleury has not been all that great either, and with the defense giving him no help, he's been giving up a lot of goals. Of course, he's also giving up a lot of rebounds, which doesn't help his cause.

The offense hasn't gotten on track yet, but there are at least some signs that things are coming around. Therrien hasn't been juggling his lines as much and linemates are finding some chemistry. Against NJ on Wednesday, the coaches finally figured out that their static, no one moving PP wasn't working and changed it up... then reverted back after finding some success.

I'll agree with the comments about Pittsburgh (lack of) defense. Against Toronto it was liek watching a bunch of amateurs play hockey with all the intercepted and missed passing. Tehn again, Toronto was just as bad so it evened out, but Pittsburgh wneeds to polish that side of the game if they want to succeed, because good teams will take that and eat them alive.

On a ligher note, the MOntreal/Ottawa game saw a familiar sight. The Foligno leap is back!

I guess so but thinking this years Flyers team is anywhere close to last years team would be silly. A handful of huge additions via free agency + a more healthy lineup + a ton of young players thrown into the fire last year showing improvement = a much better team.

I think you offer predictions too much credit. But whatever, be excited if you want .

What predictions?

I see a team that was killed by injuries last season that is healthy and acquired 5-6 contributors in the offseason that upgraded the roster. I also see a bunch of young prospects that will only improve as they gain more experience.

Anyone that looks at their situation logically should realize that while this may not be a Stanley Cup caliber team or anything like that, they are much better than last years team.

What predictions? Take anything from your past couple of posts. It's all speculation. The Devils and Penguins are expected to make the plyoffs, the Flyers will probably better due to X and Y.... what do you mean, "what predictions"?

Oh ok, I'll refrain from using logic and common sense in future posts, thanks.

The Flyers will definitely be worse this year after upgrading their roster at every position and having a healthier lineup going into the season.

That prediction contradicts your other prediction. Why are you being silly like that? Can't be good for you.

Buffalo just got shutout at home for the first time since December 2, 2005 courtesy of Pascal Leclaire and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

That's Leclaire's 3rd shutout in 4 starts this season. Goals by Peca, Nash and Zherdev. Nash is off to 4 G 4 A start through 6 games. He dominated that game tonight.
