Post OOTPB Final Patch Redux

Hello again, everyone!

We're pleased to announce the release of the final patch for Out of the Park Baseball 2007! This will be the final patch for OOTPB 2007, as we'll be moving into development phase for the next version of the game, OOTP 9. There's a ton of stuff in this patch, including some small new features and a fix for the dreaded "black triangles of doom" in FaceGen. See below for details on what has been changed!

The version of your game after installing should be 2.0.3.68.

Downloading just the Patch
The patch files are cumulative. You can install the patch file over any previous version of OOTPB 2007. You can download just the patch files using these links:

Downloading the Full Install
You can download the full install files below. If you want to use the full install in lieu of the patch this weekend, simply back up your files, uninstall OOTPB 2007, and reinstall a full copy from the links below. If you install the game using this version, there is no need to patch afterwards:

Data Safety!
I'll never get tired of preaching about this, but any time you install a new version of the software, there is always some risk of problems. If your OOTP leagues are important to you, please be sure to fully back up your league files prior to patching. Just zip up the whole .lg directory. Hang onto those backups for at least a few days after you've patched, just in case the worst happens.

Patch Timing
Consider the best time to upgrade. While this patch can be applied at any time in your OOTP league, it may make the most sense to apply this change during the offseason. Review the change list below for more information on what has changed.

If you participate in an online league, please coordinate patching with your commissioner.

OOTP 2007 2.0.3.267 (Patch 3) Changes

Additions/Tweaks
- TT #2248 Adjusted trade AI so that trades would not include players of the same age so frequently, increasing the likelihood of "veteran for prospect" style deals
- TT #2344 Implemented solution to estimate missing caught stealing data in historical simulations
- TT #3158 Boosted speed and steal ratings when converting OOTP 6.5 games
- TT #3296 Improved AI logic to reduce likelihood that teams would draft a player and then soon after release them, particularly for high draft picks
- TT #3304 Added the ability for a commissioner to remove a player's right to refuse assignment
- TT #3439 Reduced talent levels in feeder leagues to prevent overpowered feeder leagues
- TT #3582 Reduced the value players place on contract incentives, to help reduce the likelihood of unfair incentives swaying player contract decisions
- TT #3595 Alphabetized the manager list by last name in the "Select Manager" dialog box for online leagues
- TT #3678 Tweaked suicide squeeze AI to reduce chance of computer using a suicide squeeze with two outs
- TT #3742 Increased maximum DFA and Waiver time to 30 days
- TT #3752 Tweaked strategy settings so that strategies will be set to "middle" when no coaches are being used
- TT #3753 Increased frequency of injuries to pitchers, since distribution of injuries between pitchers and position players was off
- TT #3758 Players dragged to the lineup will now automatically be assigned to the position they are in in the depth chart. For example, if you have a 2B playing SS in your depth chart, when you drag him to the lineup, the computer will realize you want him to play SS.
- TT #3773 Added the ability to copy and paste depth charts (in prior versions, you could only copy and paste lineups)
- TT #3824 Tweaked the formulae used to determine player expected roles to generate more realistic player expectations, especially for bullpen/closers
- TT #3836 Added the ability to make imported historical players draft-eligible
- TT #3845 Made it harder for position players to become good catchers
- TT #3873 Tweaked relationship between morale and expectation, to give more realistic values, particularly when a minor league is performing poorly but still thinks he should be in the majors
- Young players no longer get upset when demoted from one minor league level to a lower one
- Made players expenses & staff expenses editable in the team options
- Before the playoffs start, every team is now forced to cut down its roster to the regular size
- Tweaked age of high school draft entries

- TT #129 Resolved rare issue where contact ratings/potential ratings would reverse during player creation
- TT #336 Fixed scouting e-mails that did not have player hyperlinks
- TT #399 Fixed issue when adding a template to already existing universe. Years now display as year numbers instead of 0 or 1
- TT #469 Fixed rare error where Scores/Schedule page shows "1st January 50" when that is not the correct date
- TT #1942 Fixed text overrun in the 'Functions' section of 'League Setup' (Mac)

- TT #2677 Fixed issue where coach FaceGen images were never African American
- TT #2678 Fixed issue where all coaches were assigned the "African" ethnicity

patch question

Hello,
Long time reader first time poster here. Yea, I downloaded the full install on Saturday to upgrade to the new version. Ahhhhh yea, then I just downloaded the new patch to 2.0.3.68. Yea, I can just install that right?

Yes, that should work fine.

Mgom, OOTP 8 will be a completely separate game, not a patch. Just FYI.

Is it just me, or does the patch still have issues with the registry (2.0.68 instead of 2.0.3.68) This only comes up after you hit the Setup button. On the initial screen it reads correctly.

Haven't checked it out yet, but my guess is that this won't be a problem if this is the case. There's not likely to be any more patches to this version, and the version number for OOTP9 is likely to be either 3. something or 9. something so will automatically be higher than the value in the registry.

Hmm. I had the problem with the original patch 3, and didn't alter anything and patch 4 installed without a hitch. The version in my registry now says 2.0.68

This is true...
Registry value is 2.0.68
(which is the verson that the OOTP patcher states as well)

Version on the initial screen is 2.0.3.68

But as the man from Buckingham says this is possibly irrelevant as OOTP9
should be a totally different version range.
