Fictional player face collection - looking for pics
I came up with I thought was a great idea today.
What is everyone doing with the face layer of the images when they are creating the fictional fictional players? I have been saving just the face layer as a photoshop file so that I could go back and make changes later (i.e. player signs with new team). What I am thinking about doing is making a collection and posting it on the net. Then anyone could take either Deft's template (or my variation of it) and create the players they want. If anyone else has saved their face layers this way, please feel free to zip them up and email them to me at mbenson@NOSPAMfuse.net (leave out the NOSPAM). The players need to be facing forwards; I should be able to resize as necessary so they work with the templates. Once I get a good size collection, I will post them on the web. Mark |

Shorty is alreadying handling a project like this, not that you can't do your own.

JWay,
What was thinking of was someting a little bit different that the project Shorty is working on. His project is finished pictures. What I am trying to make is a collection of just faces - no unforms, etc. The idea is to have a template that will be usable to create your own player. That way if someone wants player #1 in a grey uniform all they would have to do is to copy the face into the template and turn on the grey hat and jersey layers. |

Markmeister,
I was also thinking of something like this but you'll run into a problem with layer capacity and file size. Maybe another option would be have a batch of 500+ players all generated from the same template. Then for each subsequent team you would only need one file that contained the hat, jersey and logos on one layer that can be copy on to each player. That way if you want a team of 25 players on the Crawdads, you just open the Crawdads jersey, logo and hat file, select all and copy it to each player on the Crawdads and save as each file as the player name you want.

Deft,
Since I had to download PhotoShop to create a template that most people could use, I noticed that the file sizes may be too big to create a database of face images. I think it was initially a good idea that just may too unwieldy to get to work. Mark |
