It looks like Rachel McAdams to me.
I think everyone understands the delay Andreas. The updates to the autoscheduler and rankings are nice not to mention the database which is huge.

Presently, 89 Trunzo files have been re-rated/adjusted with about a dozen under active review. In the end, there are about 500 to 600 of the old ratings that we would like to at least review. As for the ultimate size of the database; I can't say. At this time, it is nearly 4,300.
Whatever size it ends up being and how ever many old files get reviewed, the process will not stop after this or any other release. Once it is released to everyone else, we will still plug away at re-rates, divisional or era related projects and will always take feedback from all of you. If anyone takes issue with a rating, we will look at it again. We may not always agree but there will at least be an open conversation and the database will no longer be static. Quote:
I would also like to see other time savers, I am especialy interested in any ideas for improving the auto-scheduler.

Looking forward to the 2.5 release. Do we have an approximate date on this? Also, I am still a little confused about the updating db function. I responded in the "menu" thread in the tbcb3 section. What was being discussed was that the whole update functionality is based on the fighter's id #. It was said that to keep all previously collected info you should create a separate db with all fighters having no fighter id # so it would appear as a fictional fighter. Is this the case. Does that mean that I will have to create a separate db and go through each individual fighter to delete his fighter id #? This seems time consuming. Am I understanding this right or is there a better way? I know that Andreas and Bear were discussing this, but I am still a bit fuzzy about this. I understand that I will have the option of selecting if I want to download the info, but will I have to do this with each update? What happens if I press the update button by accident, I sure wouldn't want to overwrite the data that I have spent time collecting. Sorry about the confusion.

The update function does not overwrite your database or the stats! It will only overwrite the fighter's personal data, like name, date of birth, nationality and so on. So if you make important changes to these values and want to safe them, you can do this easily by deleting the boxrec ID on the biography page of that fighter. If the boxrec ID is gone, the fighter record will never be updated. The update function will also add new rating records for the fighters, but since they are not set to "Default" automatically, they will not be used, so no problem at all. But you CAN use them if you want to. Furthermore the update function will overwrite rating records of fighters, but only rating records with the same division and "valid as of" date! For example if somebody adds a rating record to the online database for Mike Tyson, divison is obviously HW, and the "valid as of" date is 1995-08, when he had his first fight about coming back from prison. When you click on update, the rating record will be added to your database, and you could use it. But it will not be used automatically. Now somebody makes changes to that record in the online database. When you update your database next time, these changes will overwrite your rating record. Even if you made changes to that rating record before. If you don't want to lose your changes, you could delete the boxrec id, or you could change the "valid as of" date. But again: If your fighter has a record like 22-3 (4) and the history and stats, you will not lose this data! If one of the data editors changes the birthplace city for this fighter, you will see the new value after the next update, but that's all! Last edited by Andreas Raht; 09-30-2007 at 07:16 AM. |

Andreas, as I don't plan on using any of the updated fighters, I'm glad this is optional.
I don't suppose the new feature of the autoscheduler can be used to replicate an injury list? Good to hear that the Perf Points Problem has been corrected. So there won't be any more problem of fighters' points not being updated. The addition of the additional groupings is very welcome. Also nice to hear that their length has been extended. So I can have a "Canadian" champion. Will the title being fought for be included in the actual fight screen? Are any changes planned there? How about showing fighters' weight? Too much? Guess there won't be ring announcers or graphic enhancements to a world title fight screen....ah, well. It's worth a few bucks to keep the only real boxing sim on the planet alive. Cap

The random fighter generator alone will make me buy the 2.5 version.
I've heard it voiced before, but I'll ask again - would it be possible to hide the overall ratings of fighters when looking at the various screens? It would help immensely with the element of suspense when building a fictional universe, as you would only have results to go on ... |

There won't be in 2.5 but that will almost certainly be a feature of the RPG

I guess with the changes going on within OOTP and even more pressure now being on Andreas and Co. Our little game has to slip further and further down the food chain. For me anyway and i would make a guess for most here, it was not unexpected. As even before the changes it was a hard enough job for our programmer to find the time to work on the boxing games. Still if its all you got you have to take it and be thankful for small mercies.
Thanks for the update Andreas. |

Didn't see any mention of it in Andreas original post so I was wondering if 2.5 would add any changes to the boxer's "skins" graphics or will they be the same as 2.0?

Be careful, northtexas. Don't poke the bear. Some folks in these parts are right sensitive about questions regarding the game update/patch, such as when it will come out. Guess they're not familiar with your Constitutional right to free speech.

I have personally never cared for the red skins so I would hope that some variety can be offered.

I think he is wanting to know if the white and black boxer will be changed so it matches up with the fighter who is fighting.
I believe the answer to that question is no, nothing will change. |

I think what Cap is getting at is at times in the past when someone has complained about delays such as a patch, update or the role play game which has now been years in the making he has been put down, and at times made to look the bad guy by certain people on the forum. Of course i could be way off the mark but i think that's what Cap had in mind.
What has always got up my nose is we always seem to get a beta patch, in my opinion its about time we got a finished complete patch not another so called beta patch. If i have this correct we are still waiting for another finished patch for the present game we have in our hands. Perhaps in my old age though my memory is getting a little fuzzy and i was mistaken. |

[QUOTE=mh2365;2324579]I think he is wanting to know if the white and black boxer will be changed so it matches up with the fighter who is fighting.
QUOTE] That is correct, reference this Trunzo post from 2/06: Gentlemen, I'll probably catch hell for saying this but I don't really care and I believe that it's important to let all of you know that your request don't fall on deaf ears! We have currently put a program and the game skins in the hands of a graphics acquaintance to see about the feasibility to quickly but competently come up with all combinations of fighter "skin colors" (i.e. white vs white, black vs. black, white vs. black, hispanic vs. black, etc.). We are awaiting feedback (which should come in several weeks) and if possible, that feature will be the next big implementation to go into the game. Considering the paucity of graphics, it would be nice (and all of us agree completely on this) if at least the fighters mirrored the men opposing one another. While it is obvious that the fight graphics are meant to be more metaphorical than accurate representations, it is disconcerting to see Ali vs Frazier as a black vs a white. Sooner or later this will be address; however, our hope is that we can do it soon. Guess it will be later....maybe.
