slow play

i have downloaded the game on 2 computers. my regular desktop is pretty powerful and the game plays perfectly so far. however i dled it onto my friends laptop. it is about 1 year old and a fairly powerful laptop. the game plays so slow it is unplayable. is there anything i can do to speed up the game play. i did use the cd disk for the laptop and i wonder if it could be a problem with the disk.

It has nothing to do with the cd, I'm sure. Need some 'puter specs, here, but I'll try to help you the best I can without any info. First of all, how much hard drive space do you have? Low disk space is a common problem with slow game play. Also, try disabling the background sounds -- that often has a major effect on slow game play. When is the game slow? Playing out games, simming them, etc.? Again, there's not much I can do here. I can't offer any terribly helpful suggestions without system/computer specs other than the ones I just mentioned.

its my girlfriends computer. i will get the specs tonite and try to clean up some programs and remove what she is not using. i will try to disable the sounds. i will post the specs tromorrow if that does not help. thanks for the help

cleaned up the hard drive. there is 68% open. i disabled the sound system. the game plays ok but i can't use the editor and cannot change any info in the game such as mgr's name. pulling up the players is extemely slow but playing the game itself is ok.

Direct X9.0 installed
LOADS of HD space free
Set free mem to over a Gig
2.4 GHz processor
