Stankovich continues to move up NZPBA rankings...
George Stankovich, New Zealand, 10-1-0 (10) vs Solomon Haumono, New Zealand, 9-4-1 (9)
Downtown Convention Centre, Auckland, NI, New Zealand. Not a lot of action to start the fight but I believe that Haumono may have gotten the better of it, 7-5. Stankovich has Haumono hurt in the 2nd, 22-4. The 3rd is another strong round for Stankovich, 18-3, as Haumono develops some swelling around the right eye. Haumono puts Stankovich on the canvas in the 4th, 22-3. Stankovich lands a big right hook that hurts Haumono, but is unable to do more damage as the round comes to an end, 22-11. The 6th is more of the same for Stankovich, 24-3. George Stankovich improves to 11-1, as the fight is stopped in the 8th. Winner: Stankovich Result: (TKO8) Cards: 66-66, 66-66, 67-65 Stankovich Punch stats: 111-408, 27.2% Haumono - 288-442, 65.2% Stankovich |

European Boxing Union Championship
EBU Title Fight - Ponds Forge Leisure Centre, Sheffield, United Kingdom
[Champion] Joe Calzaghe, UK, 16-0-0 (14) vs EBU#1 Sergei Kobozev, Russia, 20-3-0 (17) Calzaghe is making his 2nd defense of the EBU Title and is 5-0-0 (5), 2KO, 3TKO, in title fights. Kobozev is 0-2, in title fights. The champion looks good and starts out fast with an 11-4, 1st round. The 2nd is too close to call, 11-9, Calzaghe. Kobozev attacks in the 3rd, 17-2, as Calzaghe’s right eye shows a bit of swelling. The fighters split rounds 4 and 5. The champion opens up and unloads, 25-2, in the 6th. Kobozev, 11-5, in the 7th, as the champ’s eye begins to swell shut. The 9th is another big round for the champ, 25-5. Kobozev’s right eye is worse than the champ’s swelling in the same eye as Calzaghe looks to have a comfortable lead going into the 11th. 23-8, Calzaghe in the 11th. A close round in the 13th as Kobozev’s vision is really impaired. Atlas is trying to get Kobozev to understand that he needs a knockout to win the fight between rounds. Both fighters land exchanges in the final round, but it looks as though this should be an easy decision win for the champion. Winner: Calzaghe Result: (UD15) Cards: 144-143, 144-142, 144-142, all three cards in favor of Calzaghe Punch stats: 243-865, 28.1% Kobozev - 411-1014, 40.5% Calzaghe |

Cotto wins but suffers cut in fight with Leonard Pitt of Jamaica...
Miguel Cotto, Puerto Rico, 8-0-0 (8) vs Leonard Pitt, Jamaica, 6-0-1 (5)
Edelweiss Park, Kingston, Jamaica. Cotto lands the better shots as both undefeated fighters trade hard shots, 16-7, in the 1st. A short, clean cross puts Pitt down in the 2nd, 22-5, for Cotto. Round 3 is close, Round 4 goes to Cotto, 17-9. Pitt is hurt in the 5th, 20-10, Cotto, as Pitt’s eye swells up pretty bad. An overhand right causes a cut over the left eye of Miguel Cotto in the 7th. Pitt is definitely going after the cut as he out punches Cotto, 15-4, in the 8th. 28-0, in the 9th for Cotto. Pitt catches Cotto in the corner and puts together a nice string of punches that hurts Cotto, 24-7. Cotto, 15-8, in the 11th. The cut hasn’t been a problem and Pitt goes down for the 2nd time in the fight in the 12th. An overhand right puts Pitt down again with only three seconds in the 12th. Pitt is able to get up and continue, 33-0, in the 12th. Pitt survives the 13th but had a point deducted for a low blow. A solid combination puts Pitt down again here in the 14th. Pitt is taking too much punishment and the ref stops the fight. Winner: Cotto Result: (TKO14) Cards: 127-117, 127-115, 127-115, all three cards in favor of Cotto Punch stats: 212-829, 25.6% Pitt - 450-744, 60.5% Cotto |

Yep, I was very disappointed to see this cut because I am a fan of Cotto's and I am waiting for him to get a shot at the PRBC title. Of course, I don't think Ruiz will mind that he can hold on to it for a bit longer. |

Calzaghe's future...
Looks like Calzaghe has moved to #13 in the world rankings as of his last victory. I see the Klitschko brothers in his future. Either Vitali for a mandatory EHBA title defense or Wladimir for a EBU defense in the near months.

Cane scores a surprisingly easy KO win versus LaStarza...
Union Cane, USA, 10-1-0 (9) vs Roland LaStarza, USA, 9-2-1 (4)
Las Americas Arena, Houston, TX, USA. Both fighters choose to stay on the inside in the 1st round to LaStarza’s advantage, 10-8. 13-6, Cane in the 3rd. Cane ends the fight with a solid combination in an action-filled 4th round, 25-12, as LaStarza is unable to get up at the count of 10. Winner: Cane Result: (KO4) Cards: 29-28 Cane, 29-28 LaStarza, 29-28 Cane Punch stats: 71-182, 39% LaStarza - 107-292, 36.6% Cane |

Winslow is stopped due to TKO by Jack Root...
Donald "Doomsday" Winslow, USA, 5-0-0 (5) vs Jack Root, USA, 4-0-0 (1)
Casino Magic, Bay St. Louis, MO, USA. Both fighters come out going toe-to-toe, but Root suffers the worst of it sustaining a cut over the right eye in the 1st, 12-11, Winslow. Root has Winslow in trouble in the 3rd, 17-8. Another big round for Root, 17-2, in the 4th as Winslow starts to develop some swelling around the left eye. 18-17, Winslow in the 5th. Winslow is landing the power shots but Root is just peppering away and has caused Winslow to develop swelling around both eyes and a bloody nose. 19-9, Winslow in the 6th. 12-6, Winslow in the 7th. 8-0, Root in the 8th. Winslow’s corner is urging their fighter to step it up because they are worried that the fight could be stopped at any time due to the severity of the swelling around both eyes. The doctor has already come up to the mat once in the last round. Winslow does a good job of listening as he lands a crushing shot early in the round that has Root hurt. Root does a great job of surviving the last 2:30 of the 9th, 24-0, Winslow. 14-3, Winslow in the 10th, as the doctor comes up to the ring two times, once for each fighter in the round. The fight has been stopped in the 11th due to the severity of Winslow’s injuries - swelling to both eyes and a bloody nose. Winner: Root Result: (TKO11) Cards: 96-94 Winslow, 95-95, 96-94 Winslow Punch stats: 256-491, 52.1% Root - 214-641, 33.1% Winslow |

Damn, I was hoping for a perfect month by the forum promotional teams. I don't think we've manage one since we've expanded.

Don't think it will ever happen, the schedule is too tough now that so many fighters have experience and/or ranked, plus the promotional handlers are not picking any easy matches.

No kidding...Root is a "6", Winslow a "12". Root just kept landing blow after blow, jab after jab. Once the swelling and bloody nose occurred, I was worried because I knew that Root would keep peppering Winslow's face. Juggernaut has had some tough losses, the Bugner/Haye loss is still the worst in my opinion. I am sure Winslow will get back on track.

The pathway is C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2. Suck to hear about your computer hopefully the best buy cats can transfer everything over so you don't lose all of your stuff.
