Suggestion: Catchers need to be rated according to their "game-calling" abilities. This would involve comparing the stats of pitchers according to the catcher in the particular game. Then, there should be options to set how much the manager relies on the individual catcher to call the game or requires the catcher to take orders from the dugout.

Reason: A huge part of the ultimate performance of a baseball team has to do with the impact of the catcher and the catcher's relationship with various pitchers. How well the guy knows the staff. How well the guy can gauge the pitcher's strengths and weaknesses on a given day. How well the C knows opposing hitters. These are all very important to the team's chances of winning. The more strategy that has to come from the dugout (where the decision maker cannot feel the pitches or see them as well), the less effective the decisions are apt to be. Also, the second string catcher probably knows little about the starters, but he is likely to be very good with the guys in the pen who he spends all of his time with. If you want to simulate baseball, you have to start with the catcher.

Priority: Obviously I think this is a high priority. I've seen teams convert a left-handed guy with no experience to catcher and somehow do just fine. It makes no sense. There is a reason that very few catchers get to the majors under 25, they need the skills I am talking about to be worth anything to their team.

Cheers,

Arlo

Suggestion:

Bring back the (N)'s and (A)'s after team names when automatically adjusting team names.

Reason:

It's unclear what team a player is playing for in the early years and adding (N)'s and (A)'s is pointless because you either have to turn off the automatic adjusting of team names and edit every team name manually, or add (N)'s and (A)'s every year.

Priority:

High
