If I was SD, I'd turn the game over to the bullpen and save Peavy for the 1st game of the playoffs. Why not since it doesn't matter who's pitching tonight.

There's no way Peavy would be able to come back and pitch tomorrow even if they took him out now.

Oops. You're right. I got confused with the time difference. It's Tuesday here and I forgot it's still Monday over there. Still, I don't think he would have even been able to come back on Wednesday.

Never know. Pitchers pitch even in their off days. I think he had about 40 pitches at that point when I said it.. so, I don't if he would be too drained at that point or not. But he could've come back easily on Thursday. But now throwing some more and probably will approach 100 pitches, he won't be pitching until Game Three... which the Padres(again if they make it) may not be able to afford against a good team like the Phils.

We'll see though. Thats why we play one game at a time.

The Phillies aren't any better than the Rockies, as far as record goes. So even though they are playing in Coors, it's still smart to put your throw your best pitcher in a must win game.
