argh! game says i have zero players!

I'm getting rather frustrated with this game. It seems like if it's not one thing, it's another.
I lost my last league so I started a new one and expanded MLB to add 2 teams. One of which is The team I'm playing.
I have a full active roster (i've checked it one thousand times) but when I go to play my first game, it says I have an invalid amount of players (0).
I don NOT have zero players!

I've tried:

changing manger options to allow AI to alter lineup/rosters

playing in commish mode and actually taking a whole other job and letting the AI fix the roster (they didn't)

Moving some players to and from AAA

no matter what I do, the game isn't seeing the players even though they are there. my lineups are filled out and everything!
help?

What precisely does the error message say? Are you certain it is referring to your team, and not, perhaps, another team in the minors somewhere? If you turn on ghost players, are you able to sim forward?

Angry

yeah...it's my team.
on the league schedule screen no starting pitcher is showing up (just blank) for my team even though the starting rotation is set

Spring training was fine,,,, but now....

The only thing I can think of that I did from then to now was i deleted career stats. The other expansion team though wasn't affected, so...

I spent alot of time getting my roster together during the off-season and now i suppose i'll have to start over a THIRD time??

oh, and i did turn the ghost player option on now, but that only affects the minors, correct?

yeah, ghost players fill vacancies in the minors.

In League setup/Roster functions/Run computer manager on all teams

should correct any league/roster structural errors you may have with your team. If you haven't allready i'd try that first. If that doesn't work and you have to start a third time, before you create/start the game save your setup as a template so everything is allready in place for you.

yaeh I did try running comp. managers.
The players are there, but not recognized somehow.
is this a new problem?

I'm trying to remember how to save the setup as a template? Is is in the league setup menu somewhere? functions?

...so I saved the template and started over....
and my worst fears came true: the problem followed me.

I took control of a new team this time, but it didn't matter, the team in question still supposedly has zero players.
I noticed something else strange. When I go to that team's schedule it is blank after spring training. (like i said before, everything was fine in spring training).

All the other teams have full schedules, but not this one team.

any fixes?
I'm stuck on day one! argh!
I'd delete the team, but i can only do that in the off season, right?

Check and see if you have the minor league teams set to human or computer control.

Make sure you have "ghost players" ENABLED.

Then auto set all minor league rosters.

well it says it's the major league team with zero players. and even if it DOES mean a minor league team...all the affiliates have full rosters too (or at least 25 players on each)

ghosts are enabled. no help there

Go the Home Page of the team with the roster error in question. In Commish Mode, click on the Options & Ballpark tab. Uncheck the "Prevent any AI roster changes" box if it is checked. Do this for every team that might possibly have AI decision making made upon it. Does that solve your problem?
