I might have to watch some Twins games this weekend Nice to see the regulars getting rest and still winning Great start by Hughes going into the post-season.

I stand by my statement. I wouldn't trade Chamberlain in a package for Santana.

1st -- No way will it only be Chamberlain
2nd -- I'd rather have Chamberlain and whatever else it took over Santana
3rd -- It'll be nice to have some home grown talent on the team for a change. It's been too long.
4th -- His stuff is electric! I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish

I agree that you should not trade away Joba for Santana, or I should say you should not trade him away with anybody.
I think the Yankees is at the stage to build up some home grown core for the next 10 years, around players like Hughes, Cano, Joba, Cabrera.
I believe that is what Cashman is trying to do right now, and it should be that way.

So I think I can safely stand by my statement that the Yanks won't catch the Red Sox.

The Yanks will have to sweep at Baltimore and the Red Sox will have to lose two of three.

I don't see either of those scenarios happening and they both have to happen.

The Yanks are Wild Card winners. I'm happy with that.

Dude, you just made me lose my breakfast... The season is not over yet!!!

This can be a very fun weekend for the Yankees if you really stop and think about it.

Lets go back to my strategy, one day at a time. Lets fast forward to Friday Night and just imagine another Yankees win combined with a Boston loss. There is absolutely no reason why this can't happen. If this does happen, then going into Saturday the Yankees sit one game back. And seriously, why can't one team lose 2 of 3 while the others sweeps? It happens all the time in baseball and I see no reason why it can't happen this time as well.

Now, lets also mention the Yankees will be resting their regulars through out the weekend. I may be crazy, but I think this may be an advantage for the Yankees. These young kids and reserves are fighting for a spot on the post season roster, they all want to prove they deserve to make the roster. There is no quit, no time to rest. Lets move forward at 100%!!! Lets see the Duncan's and Betemit's and those types help this team along with the starters who do play this weekend give it one last push.

And not to forget, should I point out we are talking about the Yankees and Red Sox. An ever lasting rivalry where we've seen the unexpected, time and time again. We are just destined for another chapter to be written here. We've seen amazing come backs in the past, a team come back from 3-0 to win a playoff series of which has never happened in the history of baseball and so much more.

I plead, don't write the AL East title off yet. Mathematically we are not eliminated yet, and there's no need to start playing like we are. Lets do it one more time, lets make history.

Go Yankees!!!

Sunday evening. The Yankees are 1 game behind and the Red Sox lose on Sunday trimming the lead to 0.5. The Yankees are deep into extra innings and their bullpen is down to the last pitcher, with a name of F*********th - do you send him out or give one of the position players a chance to pitch?

I've heard it my whole life... But thats just in me, I can't be any other way if I tried.

I remember one game many moons ago vs. Oakland, I was watching it vs. a friend and the Yankees were down 9-0 in the first. He said, I'm not gonna watch this crap. So he went home.

Darryl Strawberry helped with a grand slam finish the come back. See, so never give up!!!

I was at a soccer game between Yeovil and Oxford and I had arranged to visit a friend in Yeovil afterwards. We went 3-0 down and I decided to avoid the traffic crush that comes from several hundred cars making their exit through one car park onto one road.

When I got to my friends I looked at the final score and it was 6-1. I'm glad I didn't waste the other 45 minutes watching it.

I think one thing we can both sure of is that whoever wins the East is going to be hosting the Angels in game 1... We've got a positive record against them this season (6-4 or something like that OTTOMH)...

Alot of stuff about the Yankees winning and the Red Sox losing.

Go Yankees!!!

Haha, I understand where you are coming from but I'm just being realistic.

Also a part of me wants to be right about the Yanks not catching the Red Sox.

Not when it means facing the Angels Although the Indians will be no walk in the park either.

I would send him out, telling him if he screws up, don't come back to the dugout. Just leave by the outfield fence gate and keep on going.

Tell you what. For every time that he impresses me with courage and pitching skill from now until the end of the Yankees' season, I will restore one letter of his name, substituting for each asterisk in "F********h."

That's eight chances, if he even gets them; he may not even be on the post-season roster. Tough deal, I know, but a better one than you would be giving him. You used too many *s!

Well, that is soccer after all. I'm surprised either team scored as many as six goals! Three is usually enough to win any match (noticed I used the correct term, not "game" in this case).
