Salary Capped league - extension bug

There's a slight bug in leagues with a salary cap and offering player extensions. Here's what I've got:

80 mil salary cap. My CURRENT salary is at $76 million. I have a guy who is currently making $9 mil at age 36 offering to take 4.5 next season. I make him that offer and he accepts but then the game tells me this move would put me over the cap. That makes no sense since next year, I'll be saving $4.5 mil and actually have a team salary of $71.5 (if all things stay the same - and I've yet to resign anyone else). I ponder this for quite a while. Unfortunately he won't accept anything LESS than $4.5 so I can't go that route.

So I do what any good gm with a new game would do and back up my game and cheat. I reduce his CURRENT salary down to $4.5 and offer him again.... this time, he accepts. And the game lets it go through. I then reload my season and reduce his salary to the point that the $4.5 extension would put me just below the salary cap, he signs. I then reload and put his salary so the $4.5 extension would put me just above the cap, and the game says this would put me over the cap.

What seems to be going on here, is extensions are being ADDED to the current contract when determining if it is allowed per salary cap. So although, in reality, my salary will be going down next season, the game is not taking off his current salary before adding in the extension salary. Definately a bug which needs addressed, and one I haven't seen mentioned.

As does this post. Hmmm. This is a MAJOR bug for leagues with a cap. Maybe some response would be in order?!?

Didn't see this thread until now, but I am seeing this as well. I've only noticed it since the first patch (5.01) though.

Scott, read?

We've read it and are trying to track it down... but since we didn't have anything really to add to the post it wasn't replied too.... I can assure you that almost every thread in this forum gets read, so just because there is no reply you shouldn't assume that its been ignored... it could just be that we didn't have an answer when we read it.

Good timing to post that..

Please note bumping every thread that deals with this topic makes it very hard to follow the post and get all of the information needed to track down this bug.

Please try and keep all information on the bug to one post... its much easier for us to reference that one post and get all the details provided to track it down... rather than having to search through the various posts (at least 5 I've read for the second time in the last few minutes)

I can understand the zeal of wanting to make sure something's noticed... but following one thread is much easier then trying to find each nugget of information from numerous threads.

Apologies for bumping all the reports of this if it causes some sort of confusion. Is just none of them even got a reply of. `We are aware of this and are looking into a fix`.

Now that Im aware of that it is known there is no reason to bump the posts anymore.

Thanks for the reply Scott.

It is also not subtracting any contracts that are up the next year.
