How is OOTP 2007?
So, I bought OOTP 2006 last year, and frankly, it sucked. If I'd bought it in a store, I'd have been down there raising hell till I got my money back or gotten arrested - probably the latter these days. That said, is there any reason for me to try the new version or should I stick with old faithful 6.5?
Thanks. |

2007 is miles ahead of 2006. I too hated last years version but this years imo is the best out of every ootp made.
I do believe there are other threads about this topic. I'll let the other guys tell ya the big differences. ![]() If you're a big baseball fan ya can't go wrong with 2007. |

Someone is gonna say it, so i might as well do it. Try the Demo. It's there for a reason.
The majority of players, including me, love the game. Definitely better than 2006. Try it. You'll (probably) like it. |

Agreed - try out the demo and go from there.

OOTP 2007 feels like the completion of OOTP 2006. This year's version was favorably received by the vast majority here, I would say.

OOTP 2007 is as good as OOTP2006 was bad. I played 6.5 last year about 50% of the time. This year, I haven't even opened 6.5.
It's a great game.

2006 was rough, 2007 is as smoothe as a $200 bootle of scotch

I'd definitely encourage you to try the demo. After your 2006 experience, I'd want you to be comfortable before you buy.
There are still some people out there who prefer 6.5, but they're definitely much fewer than last year. |

The best part of owning OTTP is the fact that if you have questions, this board is here and most of us are long time OTTP players and sometimes bashers, so we know most of the ins and outs.
The demo gives you a full feel for the game IMO and I think you will be able to see a little better if you like it. I personally think you will. |

2007 (or 8
) is a great game, a worthy successor to 6.5

Alternately, if you're the type that has 4-6 months before you make a decision, you could read the manual.

I think OOTP 2007 is a great game and trying the demo is the way to go if you're unsure. The manual is huge - and very helpful.

I have found a way to make a little bit of money using the manual.
I print it out and then sell it to short old ladies as a seat extension so they can see over the steering wheel.

I too did not enjoy the 2006 version, I was relieved that I only tried the demo and never purchased it. Like you, I was hesitant to buy 2007 because of the bad experience I had the year before. But, as has been suggested on the boards already, i tried the demo and realized that all that was wrong with 2006 has been corrected in the new version.
It looks better, it plays better, it is far more user friendly, etc. You will love it. |

I liked some things about 06, but 07 was an improvement on ideas that should have been in 06.

Gee, we're really going over the top with our descriptions here, aren't we?
Apologies to the original poster. ![]() If you do some searching on the site, there were several earlier threads discussing this, that generated a lot more discussion, if I recall correctly... |
