Did you watch the Portsmouth v Liverpool game, very average Liverpool display and very poor tactics from Rafa playing reserve players against one of the toughest teams away. Can't argue with his record in Europe but his tactical knowledge in the league is poor, didn't really surprise me to hear that since he took charge Liverpool have lost more away games in the league than they've won.

was just saying my attention span of the 20/20 lasted about 5 minutes, more of a test match fan myself. And the rugby World Cup lasted about as long as it took teams to rack up 100 points in a game, they should change it to say either have 2 world cups, one for the better teams one for the poorer teams and the one that wins the poorer world cup plays in the 1st ranked world cup next time or say have it as 2 divisions were over a two year span teams play each other twice one home one away and the top two in the division play in a final for the World Cup.

Thats a good idea, and hopefully it's looked at. I mean, how much will a team like Portugal benefit, by losing a game by 95 points? It's not good for the developing nations, and especially when those scores are against 2nd XV's like NZ fielded.
I still think it lasts too long as well...7 weeks? |

Does anyone know where I can get a Louis Saha jersey, or at least a place where I can customize one to make it look like a Saha jersey?

Wasn't a miserable turnout just people are getting wise that the group stages mean Jack, Chelsea drew so what they'll still get through to the next stages. All the group stages are, are to make money and satisfy the arm chair fans so thank God the fans who matter who give football the passion have decided enoughs enough, wonder how the TV networks react when their showing games with no passion because the bums on seats fan have stuck 2 fingers up at them.

Who's going to be the next Chelsea manager now that Mourinho has left with mutual consent (ie sacked)

next manager hmmm Avram "backstabber" Grant ? seeing he was appointed in the Summer. Hopefully Jose gets a new job sooner rather than later because love him or hate him least he's a character unlike 99% of the personality lacking lot in football, Wigans manager Chris Hutchings included.

I find the whole affair pretty amusing. I hope Jose goes somewhere continental next, as he's done for me, and has been for a while. If 'having character' means talking a load of bollocks, having no grace in defeat or victory, spreading vicious lies about fellow managers and officials, then I agree totally. Character in abundance there. Of course, other managers occasionally treat us to some of these elements, some more than others, but nobody other than Mourinho was able to constantly juggle all and create a noxious stew of steaming meanness. If his teams were even remotely enjoyable to watch on the field, as per ManU for the last 15 years (mostly), then maybe his perpetual idiocy would be seen as a forgivable quirk, as opposed to the noissome prattlings of a tit. His verbal flights of fancy were enjoyable at first, but ceased to be after 18 months or so. If somebody told a joke 5 years ago, and were still telling it, I would not be still laughing, even if that joke was initially funny. He's basically the managerial version of Julian Clary. Too many column inches dedicated to one tosser.

Also, the appointment of Avram Grant surely has to be a temporary one, right? He's been given the tag of 'permanent' by someone - perhaps the odious Peter Kenyon - but that can't be right.
I heard that Guus Hiddink is being lined up. He's current manager of the Russian national team, but no doubt Roman Abramovich has sufficient clout in the Russian FA to free him up. Good choice. Always liked Hiddink. Seems like a nice bloke, and he's a pretty good manager. I would have given him the England job, personally, but then I'm an idiot. Steve Maclaren is a much better choice.

Funny how things change so quickly as Porto's win in the Champions League is one of the best football stories of this decade.

Umm I think it is because they played Rosenborg As much as you would like to proclaim it so, there is little wrong with modern football and the game is healthier today than it was in the 'glory days' that everyone likes to talk about If Chelsea had played Barcelona or Bayern or Milan or a team of that calibour the game would have been a sell out |
