First Major Upset
Who do you guys think will be the first major upset in the tourney this year? For some reason I have a gut feeling a #2 seed is gonna fall either Kansas or Wake Forest.

San Diego over Stanford.
I would have picked Manhattan if they hadn't drawn Syracuse. |

No #2 will go down in the first round.
A #3 seed always seems to bite it in the first round but your guess is as good as mine. On paper it looks nearly impossible but we know it always happens. My pick for a sure early upset is #13 seed Tulsa over #4 Dayton in the Midwest, which is both the hardest and easist bracket to pick. Easy because Kentucky and Pitt should both breeze into Elite Eight; hard because there are lots of evenly matched games leading up to that. As a UCLA fan, I've seen the kind of upset Tulsa can pull plus they come into the Tourney hot.

Heck! I pick SIU every year they are in the tourny....
I. I'm a southern Illinoisan by birth, my family is from the area, so a vote for them was always like a vote for the home team while I was in high school... II. While I attended picking the Dawgs (last year) was a no-brainer. They also got to dance in Cinderella's shoes for quite some time... III. Now that I'm gone, they have the distinction of being my alma-mater. Plus, that area is still "home" even while I'm in Columbia. Besides, I'd vote for them just to annoy all the Tiger fans around me

J/K... My Flyers are going to play Kentucky and open it up on them. Honestly I think Dayton can get to Kentucky, but not win. |

Hey, I was a major UCLA fan when, I think it was one of the O'Bannon brothers(?), said before the game they didn't even know what state Tulsa was in. Tulsa was a #12, UCLA was a #5.
Get used to disappointment

Nah. I don't have to get used to anything.
Dayton is like the Buckeyes of football, they play just enough to win. Although I am a little pissed that they have to go to Spokane, Washington to play a game on Thursday. By the time they fly there and rest, have time to study for Tulsa, and then practice running plays and ways to stop Tulsa, I just wonder how tight the time will be.

I have
Weber State over Wisconsin Wis. Milwaukee over Notre Dame Penn over Oklahoma State Watch out for the Syracuse/Mahattan game and the Butler/Miss State game. Both will come down to the end. Duke will also fall to Creighton in the 2nd round. Kevin |

I picked Butler to win one and Weber State to go to the sweet sixteen. I think both those teams will surprise people.
Pitt seems shaky to me. You never know when their offense is going to disappear, or when the game's going to end with their star player who shoots 43% from the line getting fouled. I like teams that can shoot the free throw down the stretch. That's a team that I think is very vulnerable in the second round. Regardless of who wins Indiana/Alabama, that team can give Pitt trouble I think. I don't see Duke or Syracuse losing early. |

First round upset: I like Tulsa over Dayton too....
Second round upset: Creighton over Duke. I don't much like San Diego over Stanford, even though it seems to be the upset du jour.....

One that nobody has mentioned, I got a feeling about
Central Michigan beating Creighton. I'm sure Dwolfson will be real happy to hear that one. |
