Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but..
In a future update or OOTP6, I would love to see teams get draft picks as compensation for losing high-caliber players to free agency. Then you can get scenarios like the A's a couple years back--a small-market team getting like 7 of the first 45 picks because they strategically let players go to free agency. And losing picks would be another way to counterbalance big-market teams spending through the nose on free agents every offseason. Other great things would be a Rule V draft, scouting and signing international players, and having to negotiate signing bonuses with drafted amateurs. |

A few little bugs
Hi:
A few little bugs I've spotted. 1) A batter was ejected for starting a brawl after HBP. IN the lineup card, my substitute showed up on 1st. but on the PBP screen, the old batter appeared on 1st base. 2) I quit one game and found that a handful of stats were retained, despite replaying the game. This did not appear to be uniformly true. (I've noticed in the past, that if I quite a game in the middle, injuries are retained). 3) The league ended one season with a tie for 1st place in a division. It then scheduled a 1-game playoff. Problem is that the loser was the wild card anyway. I know I'm picking nits, but in the MLB other means are used to determine the league champ and wild card in this very rare circumstance. All in all, the game is amazing. My girlfriend is rapidly growing jealous of OOTP5!! |

Date bug
Another little annoying bug.
I had finished the coach/scout signing period and was about to start the FA period. At this point, I decided to make some alterations to the league schedule, including the starting date. This changed the CURRENT DATE on the league to the league start date (in this specific case, March 30). I copied the league and ran FA, draft, spring training only to find the date as May 30 and the first two months of the league unplayed and unplayable. Going back to the original copy, I reset the league start date to January 30, hoping this will fix it (it appears to have). I haven't run FA, draft or spring yet but would appreciate some advice and a fix for the bug. |

I am in the middle of my season...nearing the all-star break (and using the updated g-force rosters) so is it possible for me to fix the schedule bug mid-season or do i need to wait untill the beggining of next...and if i go ahead and fix it anyway what problems will i encounter???
another thing... the game stops responding during later rounds of the amateur draft and on the trading deadline every year i play.....is it the roster or the game any fixes???

I assume the "financial coefficient" will be forthcoming in the next patch when it eventually comes out...
Will that allow me to finally have sensible finances in a small market contemporary fictional league? When I set these types of leagues up now ($5MM salary cap, small stadiums (8k seating)) the finances still get hosed because every team ends up making $40MM in TV and merchandising revenues. Can I get confirmation that this coefficient will not be tied to the Era Selection Setting in the league setup options. Best thing that can be done for OOTP6 >>>> an .INI file for users to customize to their hearts content. Last edited by PineTar; 03-24-2003 at 01:00 PM. |

I don't know that the "financial coefficient" will be in the next patch, I'm fairly certain that will be a bit later in an update. I do not have any time frame for it however.

Steve, dude, as long as you all get those in-game draft picks, the rest is all gravy....

How about a better schedule generator as opposed to having to use a 3rd party one?
Also, attendance tweak for the playoffs? I just played a team in the playoffs and the attendance was 8000 leass than a sellout. Yes, I know some teams in life may not sell out, but most do. What's with having 22 seats available during a championship game. Make these things sellouts, please. Also, and this one is the biggest for me, arbitration based on ratings and not past performance is just wrong. I bought OOTP5 not OOTP5 the Psychic Version.

You know....that's a very good point. I assume it wouldn't be that hard to implement..?
...then again...what the hell do I know...?
