Pretty much, yeah.
At this point I'm hoping for a good draft pick, Loaiza to pitch well so we can dump his ass this offseason, and Piazza to qualify as a Type A free agent. Oh also I heard on the postgame dealio last night that Harden wants to pitch again before the season is over. I can't think of anything more stupid than letting him even pick up a baseball before ST next year.

You lack imagination, then. How about trading him and Nick Swisher straight up for Jose Contreras?

DUIza to Dodgers via waiver claim. Glad to have that money off the books next year.

If the Dodgers are collecting washed up former White Sox, I hear James Baldwin's available!

Bump.
I hate not seeing this thread on the front page. I'm glad to finally get a win against the monkey. Even better to see Murphy back in the starting lineup.

Again, my blog keeps me from posting in this thread as much as I used to.

dola,
9-7 against the Halos this year. The A's need only one win in the final series to secure the season series. Yeah, I'd rather have the division, but at this point all we have are little victories. |

I almost put my head through the TV screen watching the game last night. It was the Angels guys commentating - didn't get the names.
I think Joe Morgan has given them a crib sheet about the A's and that's all they know about them. All the classics came out - "team built on walking and OBP", "you can't walk a guy home from second base, you need to swing the bat", "Moneyball will get you to the playoffs, but you can't win a world series walking and waiting for the three run homer." AAAARGHHH!!!!

Tell me about it. You'd think Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler (there's their names for your **** list) would be able to come up with more intelligent things to say rather than the same old Moneyball generalizations since they see the A's 19 freaking times a year. But no, they are the most obnoxious, vomit-inducing broadcast team in baseball.

I can't really tell if they're phoning it in, or if they really suck this bad.
Most of the A's players have something to prove, they shouldn't be slacking off now... Our pitching has been really, really bad of late. And who is Kevin Thompson?

On the bright side though, Daric Barton is finally being called up. |

Nah, we're still behind you guys by 3/10,000ths of a percentage point. Still, it's been ****ing great to be a Rangers fan for the last three months.
We've actually got an outside shot at finishing at or slightly above .500. That would be a remarkable accomplishment after starting off 23-42.

After two major league plate appearances, Daric Barton is 0-for-0 with two walks.
That's an Oakland A's prospect for ya.

...and a single, double, and a run scored.
Nice 2.500 OPS, kid!
