Most Last Names Changed to Smith

I only play with an online league file. I opened 2007 one day and most of the player's last names were Smith. I didn't know if a new, updated, league file would fix this, so I waited and downloaded the updated file. No change, as most names were still Smith. Any help?

I've never seen this personally, but I do remember that there was a thread about this exact issue in Tech Support a couple of months ago. I don't remember if it was resolved, but you might find that thread by using the forum search tool.

Yeah, I found a couple of threads using the seach function but no one was able to resolve it, so I figured I would try again. In one thread a support person asked for the file but was unabe to reproduce the "Smith" naming. so it looks like a local machine problem, especially since no one else in my league has the same problem.

Hi there.

I'm very sorry your issue has sat here for so long without a response.

Us volunteers are a little on the burnt-out side right now! That's not an excuse, though, but let's see if we can make some progress, if you're still around after all this time...

Please try this:

1. Delete your online league directory completely.

2. Have your commish give you a new "full file", including the names.dat file.

Give that a try, and let us know how it works out!
