No playoffs.

I'm finishing out the third season of my league, and have had no problems up to this point. I wound up tied for first in my division on the last day of the season (October 2nd), played a one game playoff game (Oct 3rd), was sent the e-mail about the playoffs starting, and I went to sim to find the start of the playoffs. Well, I got to October 10th, and then I realized, "this isn't good." I didn't exit OOTP, but I warm booted instead hoping that I could go back in time and fix the problem.
I try to load up the league, and it sticks on the 100% Finalizing screen, and about 5 minutes later finishes loading. Once I get there, it is October 4th (again), and there are no playoffs. The Standings page does have the pairings for the playoffs though! Additionally, there are no messages either. My mailbox and the league news are both void of news.
The box that says "disable playoffs" is NOT checked, just FYI.
I do back up my files, but only right before spring training each year.
Should/can I manually edit the schedule to "add" the postseason games since the game engine won't add them for me? But what about my league history then, how will that be affected?
Any suggestions would be welcomed!

Well, I saved the league to an external hard drive (just in case), and decided to start simming. Players got extensions, some retired, and that's it. The playoffs never took place and no games took place in 2010 or 2011.
I'm still not sure what happened, but this gives me an excuse to start from scratch and try a new league.

Feel free to close this thread; I probably corrupted my files somehow, and I doubt if this problem could be reproduced. C'est la vie.

Hi there.

I'm very sorry to hear about this issue, and I'm sorry that it went unanswered for so long.

I understand that you have moved on, but I'd love to figure out how this bizarre thing happened.

Can you provide any more information about the league? Was it historical? Fictional? Standard MLB? Based on a roster set or template?

Do you have an old copy of this league that we could perhaps look at?
