Player Accepts lower salary upon position change......
This must've been brought up before..it seems pretty obvious..but maybe only I consider it a problem
If you change a players postion, they will accept a different salary based on the position you change them to... <U>Example 1:</U> I offered RHP <I>Mike Koplove</I> a contract extension, he desired the following contracts, depending on the position i set him at: <B>CLOSER: $3,570,000 @ 2yrs MID RELIEVER: $2,800,000 @ 2yrs</B> <U>Example 2:</U> <I>Rob Hammock</I> <B>C: $1,180,000 @ 2yrs 1B: $702,000 @ 2yrs 3B: $720,000 @ 1yr LF: $864,000 @ 1yr RF: $864,000 @ 2yr DH: $576,000 @ 1yr</B> Obviously he shouldn't have 6 different contracts in mind, based on the position hes currently at. An easy way to sign a player cheap is to set him as a DH while you offer the extention. I really think this needs to be fixed. Any comments...? will this be addressed? thankyou, bob (a satisfied customer)

I don't think this is a bug. This is much the way it is in real life. Compare Chris Hammond and Roberto Hernandez. With a 0.95 ERA, Hammond became just the third pitcher since 1900 to produce a sub-1.00 ERA with 70-plus innings. Hammond made $450,000 last year. Hernandez, on the other hand, as a closer, saved only 26 games, blowing 8 of them, and his salary was $6,000,000. Same with position players:
Avg Salaries by Position in 2002- C $3,645,329; 1B $5,701,654; 2B $3,189,423; 3B $3,339,078; SS $4,182,703; OF $3,992,607; SP $3,315,341; RP $1,516,079; DH $6,186,224 |

Bug or not, I think most users would like to see this OOTP4-5 loophole closed. As for the fact different positions are paid different salaries, the game really should take all the players roles/positions into consideration, not simply the listed primary role or position. If the game based contract demands on a combo of all roles/positions then there would be no variance when you changed primary role/position.

Position players who play more than one position should ask for and get more than other position players.

Becuase they are doing more for their team than someone who's sitting on the bench. Besides, they obviously have more ability, because they are playing more. Therefore, they deserve more.
