Important Information for Testers - Read me first!

Hi everyone, and thanks for volunteering to help test Patch #3 for OOTP Baseball 2007. This forum is designed for you to discuss issues you discover while testing this patch. You can always find links to the most recent version of the patch here!

Installing the Patch
The patch files are just that - patches. Just download the file, double-click, and you will be all patched and ready to go. When booting up the patched version of the game, please verify the version number in the lower left corner of the screen.

Running 2 Versions of OOTP
If you want to run 2 separate versions of OOTP while you test, for example if you play in an online league and need to keep an unpatched version of the game, see here!

Caveat
Please realize that part of beta testing is instability. I strongly recommend that you do the following to ensure you don't lose any important data:

a. Back up any important OOTP data prior to installing the patch
b. Don't play leagues that are important to you with the beta patch, unless it's just a copy.

Beta Testing - So, what do we do?
While the "full-time" testing team has a lot of more complicated processes, things here will be pretty simple:

1. There is another thread that lists issues (with TestTrack #s) we need your help on.

2. All you need to do is choose an issue from the claimed fixed list and try to verify that it works as expected. Basically, we're looking for one of two results: "verified fixed" or "regressed" (which means NOT fixed).

3. After you've looked at an issue, post a reply in the issues thread. Describe what happened, using the TT # as a reference. If you regress an issue, give some detail about what happened. Some examples:

"TT # 1234 verified"
"TT # 1235 regressed - I tried to drag my 2B to the lineup, and the game still crashed, just as described in the issue"

I will periodically update the claimed fixed thread with new information. It's always important to use the TT# as a reference point.

Many issues are difficult to verify, as they only occur in very specific circumstances. If you come across an issue that you can't think of any possible way to verify it, post something like "TT # 5533 - doesn't appear to be verifiable"

You can also create new threads if you come across any other problems.

Privacy
We aren't asking everyone for non-disclosure forms or anything like that, but I do ask that everyone who participates please try to keep discussion about the patch in the hidden forum. We don't need everyone posting on the forums about "this cool new feature" or "this bug isn't fixed!"

Actually, as of now, there are only 2 new features I'm aware of:

- copy/paste depth charts capability (yay!)
- ability for commissioners to remove a player's ability to refuse assignment
