double stats

I no this has been brought up before but cant seem to find the thread. anyway i unretired a player and his stats for a year were doubled every year. now i remember the idea to delelte him and his records will be gone but when i deleted him he is still in my record books. does anybody remember how to fix it so its like he never was.
