eMLB seeks three dedicated, patient & mature owners

Hi guys,

Electronic Major League Baseball (eMLB - www.emlb.totalsportsworld.net) is currently in its 15th season. eMLB is a part-fictional, mostly modern league, where I've added 150 new Major Leaguers every year during the 10 Round Ammy Draft, to keep the league as modern as possible.

eMLB has been run by me since July 19th, 2000 (7 years strong!). We started as a High Heat League, and converted 3 years ago to OOTP 5. We've enjoyed OOTP ever since, and are now using OOTP 2007.

Recently, eMLB has become affiliated with TotalSportsWorld.net (TSW), to provide the supreme online sports gaming experience. TSW provides gaming experiences ranging from college and pro football, to pro basketball, and soon to add other sports leagues providing a unique niche concept. For more information, go to www.totalsportsworld.net.

Due to time commitments, and apparent misunderstandings on the part of new people welcomed (Cubs and Marlins had newer owners), we once again seek three people to fill out our open slots. We aren't looking for a warm body! We want serious owners who don't bail within 2 months of making this commitment!

Here's the teams:

Detroit Tigers: (Reigning World Champions!) After much speculation, the Tigers need a new owner for the first time in 4+ seasons. They took a huge risk, and won it all in 2013, becoming the first team ever in eMLB History to go undefeated through the playoffs. They brought back World Series MVP Rick Asadoorian to one of the most lucrative contracts in recent memory.

There is a big project with the Tigers. Their farm system is weak, the team is old, and they have little cap room to work with. The pitching staff, in 2013 was the stars as a 4-man rotation carried them to the Promised Land. However, in 2014, 2 of the 4 are injured, and the Tigers now realize that they can no longer abuse the 4-man rotation any longer. Ace Kurt Ainsworth (out 2 months) and #3 starter Jerry McClure (2 more weeks left) have become casualties, and the team struggles without them. Currently, the Tigers are 18-24, tied for last in the AL Central, but only 4 1/2 games back, so it's not a writeoff yet, but there's a strong need to focus on the future!

Florida Marlins: Once one of the most dominant teams in the league, the Marlins have fallen on hard times since their 8 NL East Division titles and 2 World Series appearances. All that success has not lead to a title, and management has not remained consistent since those days, thereby slowing down their upside potential. Going into the season, the Marlins are a career 1314-954 (.579 win pct, 4th best win record in league history), and were 78-84 last season. They are currently 23-19 through mid-May, 3rd in the NL East and 4 games back.

The pitching core is fairly solid, lead by 2013 Cy Young Winner Gerald Johnson (2-5, 3.63 ERA), Eddie Donahue (6-1, 1.55). The team also sports one of the best closers in Archibald Allison (2.63 ERA - 9 Saves). The team isn't particularly old, has a lot of prospects to work with in the minors (3rd best system), and is about $10 million below the salary cap.

Chicago Cubs: The Cubs perhaps have the best potential of any available teams. The former Cubs owner was very active in Free Agency, signing two of the biggest offensive weapons in Bobby M. Cox and Paul "Big Stick" Orton. With one of the better potential pitching rotations having stars like C.C. Sabathia, young ace hopeful Scott Kazmir, to a closer in "The Terminator" Chad Cordero, the Cubs are very much a threat in the NL Central. They are currently 18-24, 3.5 games back of the Reds in the NL Central.

eMLB offers:

- $92.5 million salary cap
- Message Board and Forum
- Complete usage of Scouts and Coaches (I understand this is a turnoff to some, but we're giving this work in progress a chance with patience)
- Proactive E-Board
- Article Compensation System
- 2 sim nights a week during regular season(Sun/Weds normally)
- Leagues to be used besides eMLB is Japan (INT and AAA), Cuba and Dominican Winter League. A posting system was created and successfully used to sign 2 Japanese players to the Giants and Mets.
- eMLB SportsNet, complete news website
- Knight Waves: An audio show done by Ethan Knight, WHAM's top on air personality, and Boston based sports writer. (Sample is in my sig)

What you need to do:

- Have the game (OOTP 2007) - No freebies, please.
- Have an AIM account (Not required but highly preferred)
- Be a serious committed owner (Maturity matters, we're an older core - Avg age of owners is 32)
- Be patient (There are a couple teams who dominate...fight to change that!)
- Have a baseball mind (We're not looking for those who trade 8 times before their first game begins)
- Not be in 35 other leagues (We don't need to be your only league, but we don't want the Jeff Cobbs of the world who are everywhere...how can you focus!?)
- Be patient with your Commish (I am an entrepreneur who has a 1 1/2 yr old business, and a 2 year old daughter... I need to focus on those & my wife and bill paying very much!)
- Believe the longevity of the league is around for a reason (I still enjoy doing this almost 7 years later, despite the new distractions in my life. I always find time for it)
- Be patient with the league file, we have a lot of history! It can take 20+ minutes to download a 70 MB zip! THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT!

If you're interested, please contact me on AIM under the screenname 'Naydok', or you can e-mail me at commissioner@emlb-baseball.com. Please indicate your preferred choice of teams.

Please Note! We're not looking to take the first-come, first-serve here. We want serious owners, but we feel we have the right to get to know you a bit.

I may take a week to get back to you. I'm gathering the potential new owners within a time period before I accept people, and will get back to you! I do reserve the right to immediately welcome a super prospective owner!

Look forward to talking to you!
