Minor league season

First of all, this is the greatest baseball sim I've ever played. I'm sorry that I wasted years on APBA.

My question is that when do the minor league seasons end. Does AAA end in Sept, AA end before and A first?

Also I would like to suggest having rookie and independent leagues too. Possibly winter leagues to to give the minor leaguers more seasoning.

Damn I love this game!

I really like the winterball option. The USBL voted this in which will go in effect after this season, but would have to import player after player...

Don't forget the Ariz fall league. And fall instructional league too. Separate spring training (minor and major) would be great too. Of course, I'll be content for now with the "new" version of spring training coming in one of the updates (hopefully soon )

Here's an idea have thought about but have not tried...

At the end of a season, you create a new "winter" league and import the players from your league (basically, create a new league and copy the players.dat file from your "real" league. You turn off injuries (unless you want to add realism - and extra work - by allowing them and possibly having them affect things), draft the players onto "winter" teams, and play an abbreviated season. At the end of the winter season, you export the player ratings to a CSV file.

Then, when you start your next season in your "real" league, you import the ratings from the CSV file. What they did in winter - skills developed and what not - will have affected their ratings. This allows you to train guys at new positions (though you would then have to export/import general player info as well), let rookies get some playing time, and whatever else you want to do.
