I was away on business for a week and am catching up on stuff at home, but I hope to be able to really dig into the database tonight or tomorrow.
I don't think I'll need to re-run the postseason as I'm nearly sure the problem is in the modified Lahman database.

1921 Amateur Draft Results
BAD CROP OF PITCHERS, BUT PLENTY OF SOLID BATS ARRIVE IN '21 DRAFT
1921 produced one of the worst crops of pitchers in league history, with only the pitching-starved Braves daring to select an arm in either the first OR second rounds, taking Al Cicotte and Norwood "Gibby" Gibson with their first two picks. Neither is likely to become a household name, but both should be able to step into the Boston rotation immediately. Hitters on the other hand, were plentiful. Led by the exquisitely talented Bill Terry, 1921 saw a bumper crop of solid first basemen with both Zeke Bonura and Joe Pepitone likely to be strong performers. Good backstops also abounded with Earl Battey, Tom Haller, Billy Bryan and Carl Sawatski all going in the first round. Other top talents included Harlond Clift (3B), Jim Gilliam (2B) and Alvin Dark (SS) - a potentially dynamite infield... if they all played together (they won't). Round 1: Chicago (A) pick: 1B Bill Terry Washington pick: 3B Harlond Clift Philadelphia (N) pick: 1B Zeke Bonura Boston (N) pick: P Al Cicotte Cincinnati pick: C Earl Battey Detroit pick: 2B Jim Gilliam New York (N) pick: C Tom Haller New York (A) pick: 1B Joe Pepitone St. Louis (A) pick: SS Alvin Dark Pittsburgh pick: 3B Clyde Barnhart Cleveland pick: LF Jose Cruz Brooklyn pick: LF Ivan Calderon Chicago (N) pick: LF Austin McHenry Philadelphia (A) pick: 2B Jerry Priddy St. Louis (N) pick: C Billy Bryan Boston (A) pick: C Carl Sawatski Round 2 : Chicago (A) pick: RF Johnny Mokan Washington pick: SS George Strickland Philadelphia (N) pick: LF Jay Gibbons Boston (N) pick: P Norwood Gibson Cincinnati pick: 2B Cesar Tovar Detroit pick: LF Joe Sommer New York (N) pick: RF Showboat Fisher New York (A) pick: LF Rondell White St. Louis (A) pick: SS Tex McDonald Pittsburgh pick: 2B Alex Kampouris Cleveland pick: 1B Johnny Lush Brooklyn pick: SS Wally Gerber Chicago (N) pick: C Phil Roof Philadelphia (A) pick: LF Tracy Jones St. Louis (N) pick: SS Jerry Davanon Boston (A) pick: 1B Howie Schultz Round 3 : Chicago (A) pick: 3B Dick Gray Washington pick: P Gary Lavelle Philadelphia (N) pick: SS Ozzie Guillen Boston (N) pick: SS Neil Berry Cincinnati pick: 3B Jamie Allen Detroit pick: P Gene Schott New York (N) pick: 1B Pat Crawford New York (A) pick: C Hank Camelli St. Louis (A) pick: P Johnny Cooney Pittsburgh pick: LF Chuck Carr Cleveland pick: P Jerry Nops Brooklyn pick: C Hick Cady Chicago (N) pick: P Paul Assenmacher Philadelphia (A) pick: RF John Sullivan St. Louis (N) pick: SS Mark Wagner Boston (A) pick: P Fred Blanding Round 4 : Chicago (A) pick: P Ed Head Washington pick: C Jeff Newman Philadelphia (N) pick: C Clyde Manion Boston (N) pick: P Buttons Briggs Cincinnati pick: 2B Don Mason Detroit pick: P Bill Bayne New York (N) pick: P Emil Kush New York (A) pick: C Ebba St. Claire St. Louis (A) pick: 3B Irv Jeffries Pittsburgh pick: C Wally Millies Cleveland pick: CF Scarborough Green Brooklyn pick: P Vicente Romo Chicago (N) pick: C Willard Hershberger Philadelphia (A) pick: C George Townsend St. Louis (N) pick: P Jerry Walker Boston (A) pick: C John Humphries

Red Sox could be headed to their 3rd straight World Series defeat.
There's some great news on the development side, though: Quote:

Could the basement dwellers for the last 10 years be in contention?
Tigers only 3 games back , the youngsters are starting to hit the ball. |

With the pick of Danny O'Connell, starting SS Ray Washington is now available. PM me here or email me at metsgeek@yahoo.com.
If you have a hole in your middle infield, he'll fill it quite nicely for the next 5-6 years. Looking for prospects, or I could package him with another player for an upgrade (under 30, please). |

Nice season Red Sox! Usually a record of 102-52 will get a pennant. Not this year!

He's also the Career Win leader with 389. I hope he sticks around for a couple more seasons. |
